This room is marketed as romantic. It is not. It is a basic, standard room with views of close buildings next door. Lobby is dated with old carpet. Coffee set up at entry is thrown together and messy. The furniture in the room is newish, but very standard issue. There is no parking and street parking is extremely limited (to be expected for the area). Check in was easy with a code for front door and room door emailed day of. Main upside is that it is a one block walk to the beach. Despite the great location, I found the price point high for the condition of the property.

Coming from Seattle, it never occurred to me that parking in Asbury Park/Ocean Grove would be a nightmare - as there is no warning of this in the property description. Also, if you were to OfferUp the entire room of furniture, including the TV, you might get $100. At least the bed was comfortable.

A perfect spot for a romantic getaway! One block from the beach, walking distance to great spots in Asbury, perfect location for long walks on the boardwalk. The B&B was clean, offered great wifi, clean towels, coffee and a microwave, easy check in, and the host was prompt in their responses to inquiries. We had such a great time we asked to extend our stay and they were more than gracious to accommodate. Thank you Melrose! Well be back!

Close to the beach and boardwalk, exactly what we wanted!

This was my first time to the Jersey Shore. I was meeting friends for a concert at Stone Pony. The venue was amazing!!! I enjoyed my stay at the Melrose. It was a great location with plenty to do in the area, great restaurants etc, i appreciated the 1st floor since i had a foot injury. The stairs were a little steep but I managed. Overall was a great stay with no complaints! Definitely would stay here again!

we are looking to buy property in Asbury. we came in the winter to check out the town. it was a great location

The place, as well as our room, was clean and inviting. It was a great location, 2 blocks from beach/boardwalk. Founder's Park at the end of the street. Short walk across the bridge into Asbury Park. Weekends parking was a little tricky. Enjoyed the front porch. Only bad comment I can say was the light fixture on the front porch was a little low for my husband's 6'5 height. He banged his head about 15 times during our stay. Otherwise we will definitely be back again!!husband

This listing is in an excellent location. It’s on a lovely street just a couple of blocks from the Ocean Grove beach. The room itself is bright and pleasant. It is a bit tight, especially for two people. But perfectly fine if you’re not spending much time in the unit. It has a window AC unit which provides good coverage. There is a television on top of the dresser but it would be difficult to watch it from the bed and not particularly comfortable from the couch (unless you moved it). Getting in the front door to the building is a little tight if you are larger or have a lot of luggage.
