Arenal, Guanacaste
Spacious house surrounded by nature, quiet and beauty with spectacular views of the lake and Arenal volcano. It has a garden and a covered Jacuzzi for 6 people. Located in a mountainous area in the middle of cattle farms. Great variety of birds such as toucans, oropendulas, parrots, parakeets, hummingbirds and many more can be observed, also other animals such as howler monkeys.
From there you can visit: Rio Celeste, Arenal volcano, Monteverde, Rincón de la Vieja volcano, Caño Negro, Venado Caverns, North Pacific beaches and many attractions such as suspension bridges, hot springs, waterfalls, catamaran tours of the lake, etc. Arenal Lake is a world famous place for Windsurfing. Daniel Oduber International Airport is 1 hour away.
The floors, doors and kitchen furniture are made with local woods, local crafts and finishes were also used. It has a large garage, terrace and surveillance.
It was truly amazing.
When we arrived in Arenal, we found out the VRBO we rented 6 months ago had been sold & was no longer available. Big surprise since we had contacted the owner 3 weeks prior. We scrambled to find lodging ( high tourist season) for a night & found Elizabeth’s home later the next day. It was spotless, there was a pound of CR coffee for us & fresh organic eggs the next morning from her farm. The views are sublime. It is so peaceful. A hundred shades of green. We enjoyed the whirlpool after hikes in La Fortuna. Our traveling partners got COVID while we were there. Elizabeth offered to get groceries or pharmacy products for us. Having COVID is not fun, but I cannot think of a more restful place to heal.
Was looking for a clean comfortable place to relax after Costa Rican wilderness training. Quiet and beautiful, seemingly remote but close to many attractions.
We had a very pleasant stay! The host and on-site property manager were very welcoming and helpful. The beds were quite comfortable and the shower pressure was amazing - by far the best of all our stops. There was no air conditioning however the mountain breeze combined with large sliding doors and windows throughout made it very comfortable. The great room with jacuzzi was nice. The washer and dryer made our lives SO much easier. There are beautiful views and the architecture blends beautifully into landscape. It was quiet and secluded while still on a easily passable road and close to a few restaurants. We would definitely stay again!
Great experience at this property. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. The location needs ability to drive and a rental car as it’s far from most places. Overall good experience.
Amazing view of lake. Several sliding doors to outside would not lock. Enjoyed hot tub.
Elizabeth went above and beyond to m are us feel at home. Great house, spacious with amazing views. If you are looking for tranquility this is definitely a place to stay
While the house is very nice, there are a few problems. First is the indoor jacuzzi. The jacuzzi itself is very nice except, I suspect, it is causing a less than healthy interior atmosphere. We stayed three nights, and by the last night there I was so congested that I slept outside for the sake of clean air. The climate is so absolutely great in that part of the country that it was a great experience. Also the window in the bedroom I was sleeping in was cracked and reinforced with clear packaging tape: not cool! The location and house are otherwise very nice, but if it were my place I'd move the jacuzzi outside el pronto!
Loved the house: clean, cozy, fully equipped, great and fast response from owner, private, beautiful area, amazing drive. We had an amazing time, enjoyed tons and would come back. Jacuzzi didn’t work that well (many steps to make it work, and atill every step had a twist, so gave up), outdated TV and poor illuminated living room are the only few flaws.
Our experience was great here. It was exactly what we wanted. Some heads up to future guests: we brought our own mobile hotspot to get WiFi, there is no temperature control for the house - which is common here due to the excellent weather - we were suprised but never wanted heat or a/c. The hot tub isn't the easiest to use and control but we enjoyed it. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and functional. The washer/dryer and garage we're great. We did yoga near the tub every morning prior to the day trips. Simply wonderful. Would return
