Spacious Family-Friendly Cottage on 7.5 acre peaceful wooded area

This is our Door County home-away-from-home, and it never disappoints! It truly feels like 'our home'.

The cabin was a wonderful place for us to enjoy an annual reunion of friends.

The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a quiet location, and very beautiful.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin that fit 5 ,couples in separate bedrooms over a long cool weekend. Bring in a wooded area felt like we were secluded but just a 15 minute ride to town. Close to Washington island which was one of our stops. Don’t forget to try a fish boil-a popular event at many locations through Door County. We enjoyed the very spacious kitchen with everything needed to prepare meals (except the food and drinks). Plenty of seating for 10 adults at one table plus another table for games and also an indoor covered patio table. There’s a large jacuzzi indoors for those who want to relax. Plenty of parking and lots of space to run if you have kids. Fire pit out back. Planned to use it but had way too much to do If you have a large group highly recommended for early or late fall. Later will get the fall colors. Very clean. Not too far from all the activities.

Absolutely perfect for our group. Four couples, each with their own bathroom and comfortable bedroom. Amazingly spacious kitchen and living area to enjoy our wine dinners on our two nights in and a great place to come home to for cocktails and games after our two nights out. Quiet and relaxing. Perfect for a group of adults. A nice base camp for a family getaway. Nothing is far away in Door County as long as you understand Carlsville is the beginning of Door County. Cheers!

Waldhaus is a perfect place for families with a bunch of children. Huge kitchen and seating area too. Also a covered and screened in back patio for rainy days.

Our second time here, and it was great. The location is quiet and feels private, the house has lots of room for gathering, playing games, reading, cooking, or just finding your own space and chilling. The host is a great communicator too. We will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay. The home is beautiful, comfortable and clean. The grounds are really nice too. I definitely recommend.

Had an amazing time at this spacious cabin with numerous bathrooms and space to spread out. Close to amenities in Sister Bay and Ellison Bay. Would definitely recommend!

Spent a nice relaxing weekend with family to celebrate a retirement. Beautiful house to accommodate us. Perfect location for us to explore Door County!

Great place to stay for a bigger group

We had a great 6 days in Door County. We enjoyed fishing, Washington Island, shopping, family meals and games. Location was perfect.

Loved everything about this home! This is our 7 year for our fall friends/family trip and this is our favorite house so far!!! Perfect for our group and can’t wait to go back!

Spacious property, enjoyed the fire pit in the back of the property.

We all had a wonderful time! Thank you!! The house is so special!! The fruit flies at the house, however, were horrible - but, fortunately, one of the cousins had a remedy [vinegar and dish soap in a glass] to 'drown' the little suckers which was pretty effective. We look forward to visiting again in 2025, hopefully!! Thanks again!!

Great house, lots of room

Property was very suited to our needs. Had (Sept 11th-16th, 2024) a severe fruit fly problem. Our group of 10 tolerated the problem but extreme measures need to be taken in order to eliminate this. The tiny traps set during our stay did little to help. Second floor change in floor elevation, in the hallway, should be plainly marked and lit. Came as a surprise to some while walking the hallway for the first time. Ceiling fans in all the bedrooms would help comfort level, as wood screens on all bedroom windows. Grab bars in ALL shower enclosures would also be a excellent safety measure to consider.

This was a perfect location for us! We had additional family staying in Sister Bay so it was very easy to connect with them. And we felt like we were nice and centrally located to get to the ferry for Washington Island all the way to activities in Egg Harbor. The property itself gave us lots of space to: have morning coffee on the porch, make meals, play games, and retreat to our own spaces to relax and/or sleep. Super responsive host and caretaker. Highly recommend!

Incredibly beautiful and peaceful location. We enjoyed every aspect of the cabin (except the fire pit due to rain). Very convenient at only 10 mins to Sister Bay and 5 mins to Ellison Bay. Enjoyed being so close to Rowley's Bay to see the water. We hope to return again with even more family members in tow!

Great place to call home base and create family memories!

Spacious cottage with room for the kids to run, great for large families.

Spent another wonderful week with our extended family at this house. I’ve lost count how many times we’ve stayed here. We just love it! ! Great house for all ages. We love Mike! He is always around if you ever need anything too! Looking Howard to next year already!

Our group of 10 family members stayed 7 nights and had a great time. The home was clean and comfortable, with plenty of space for group meals and activities, or just finding a spot for some alone time reading. The kitchen was large and well stocked, and its lighting was fantastic. We all loved the covered patio in front, and especially the 3 season room off the kitchen. There are lots of games available to choose from, as well as books to read The entire setting for this property felt peaceful and private, and the host’s communication was exceptional. We will definitely be going back!

We had a great stay. Spacious, many places to sit and relax, eat, kitchen area was large, enjoyed the fire pit, very quiet area, didn’t hear any road noise at night, nice bedroom separation for our 3 couples and 2 adults so everyone had their own bedrooms, my family shared the upstairs shower but there are 2 bathrooms upstairs. It was nice having no steps or stairs for my older parents. Great place!

This house was absolutely perfect for two four-person families to enjoy Door County for a few days. The house itself was spotless and very comfortable, and the kitchen was well-stocked with cooking tools. I have zero complaints—I’d stay here again in a heartbeat!
