I couldn’t access the property! I was given the wrong code. Every time I tried to enter it, the alarm went off. I tried to call the host but the number was disconnected.

This small apartment was the perfect space for our family. It was clean, and super close to the Metro. The Roost on the corner was awesome, had some good food options and a short walk. I was nervous about the free street parking, but that ended up not being am issue as there was plenty of spots really close by. My only recommendation would be to get a larger pot to boil water in, it was small to be able to make pasta. And an updated skillet. Thank you for your hospitality.

The property was clean for the most part. Some caterpillars did follow us in. The kitchen and bathroom had all the essentials. The beds were comfy. Upstairs neighbors were a little loud but didn’t bother us.

My family had a great time staying here while visiting the Museum and monuments in DC. The proximity to the Metro was great. This location was clean and comfortable. The communication with the host was easy and prompt. We would absolutely stay here again! If you are visiting DC and using public transportation, I also highly recommend using the Citymapper app for your phone. It made navigating the area very easy!

I would have loved to used the backyard in the morning for coffee, but your are not allowed back there. Also the people above you sounds like they are auditioning for the cast of stomp. Make sure you pack your own wash clothes, because there are none in there. I had to use a paper towel for a wash cloth.

Lovely apartment in SE Washington D.C. near Capitol Hill. Property was very clean and well-kept; A/C worked well despite 100-degree temps. Would stay again.

Overall, great stay. Clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. Location is wonderful. 20 minutes to the Capitol. Easy walk to the metro. Restaurants and a gluten free bakery very close. My only complaint is that the people who live above are up very early and they are very loud! Like we definitely could not sleep past 6:30 am. At least they slept in on Sunday!I would still stay again, it was a nice place.

The apartment was perfect for our weekend in DC. We walked from the apt to the national Mall and home from a Nats game. Also, very convenient to a metro stop. Be sure to check out The Roost for dinner!

The Capitol Hill Retreat was a nice, clean, cute apartment for me and my 2 kids to stay. It was close to the Metro stop and in a safe neighborhood. However, we had issues with the toilet not flushing properly (needed to manually adjust the mechanics in the water tank) and after contacting the owner heard no response the entire trip. The kitchen was not fully stocked. The owner only supplied 2 glasses, 3 forks, 3 plates, no potholders. There were plenty of spoons, bowls, and wine glasses however. Also- anytime I used the oven it set off the smoke alarm- even if it was just pre-heating! Overall, I would stay here again, but would recommend that the owners fix the toilet and re-stock the kitchen.

Upon arriving (3 hours after check in time) the property had not been cleaned (bed slept in, floor dirty, etc..). The host got someone over to clean the property quickly but we had to leave for an hour after traveling all day. We were sent some money to make up for this. When we returned, it smelled like chemicals for hours The next afternoon we were contacted while out sightseeing and told the cleaner smelled gas the night before and that a gas company needed to come inspect the property while we were out with our things unattended at the property. We slept overnight the night before with a possible safety issue without knowing. When we saw the message, we replied to ask if needed to be there—and then we did not hear from the host again for over an hour. After a great deal of stress during what was supposed to be our main vacation day we were informed there was no issues after all. The final day we awoke to find the shower had no hot water at all for us to get ready to leave. We tried waiting but it did not warm up after trying several times over 2 hours and we eventually had to make do with freezing cold water. Although the issues were resolved the stress caused from not knowing the gas situation and issues on all three days of our short stay was unacceptable. The host did not seem very understanding and offered only a small refund for the gas issue. For a property only slightly less expensive than a hotel in a similar are I cannot recommend this place for DC travelers.

The location was great (near the metro and walking distance to convenience stores and restaurants). Space was perfect for our family. The only negative was not having coffee, but we knew that going in, so it was easy enough to buy k-cups when we arrived. The host was very responsive to communication. Overall, a very good experience.
