The house was just as pictured, clean and spacious, and yet cozy. Very well-stocked in the kitchen with plenty of plates, utensils, and cooking or baking needs. Beds comfortable. We all had a lovely time. Took a few hikes, and visited a few places, but mostly enjoyed hanging out with each other. Doug was very gracious and easy to communicate with.
We visited to see fall colors and hiking with family. Great trip for everyone. House was just the right size and the ping pong table was a great bonus for hours of fun!!!
Our group had a perfect stay at Dougs place. Everything was clean and we had everything we needed. Also perfectly situated near the park for hiking.
Fun nights with friends. Host is responsive.
This home was so beautiful and very family oriented. We had the best time here and Doug was so flexible with check in time and made it so we didn’t have to rush to get ready for my brothers rehearsal dinner. We would definitely stay here again and enjoyed are stay very much.
We stayed in this beautiful home over labor day weekend. The house is gorgeous, beautifully decorated and well maintained. It had everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed sitting on the back porch and looking out at the mountains. Apart from one night ordering pizza from the local pizza place, we cooked our meals at home in this well stocked kitchen. We also enjoyed making smores in the firepit. Overall, one our our absolute favorite vacations.
Our family enjoyed staying here for a family wedding weekend. The kitchen was well stocked and the place was very clean. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of space for the 7 of us to spend time together. Thank you for a great stay!

La Bella Vita is a beautifully decorated and furnished home. Very thoughtfully hosted. All beds, linens, appliances, dish-wear and supplies are of high quality. They have thought of everything you could want during your stay. The home has 5 well appointed bedrooms, basement has a ping pong table, and tv/game room. There is also an outdoor fire pit and the view of Old Rag from the comfortably furnished back patio is priceless. Shenandoah National park Thornton gap entrance is about 30 mins drive away. He’s very flexible with check in and check out time, when possible. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Thanks Doug!
This was an amazing place to stay, very relaxing and peaceful which was just what we wanted! There are beautiful paths around the property, and even just walking up the road and looking at some of the farms and land is just beautiful too. In the morning you could just hear all the birds flying chirping and tweeting. There is a lot of space on the back porch to relax on and we all spent a lot of time back there, enjoying the view of the mountains and the fresh air. One of the nights was particularly clear and we could see a decent bit of the milky way! I stayed here with my extended family - mom, husband, young kids, sister, cousin and her family, and we all fit nicely! I've stayed some places that are a nightmare with young kids, but this place was very conducive. There were baby gates, some child safety locks, and just general decor in most of the areas that wouldn't be completely trashed by a rambunctious toddler. There was a good bit to do in the area too. We got coffees and breakfast sandwiches in Sperryville which was about 15 minutes away at this little coffee shop I don't remember the name of. Right in that area was a little shop and pizza place too that was really good. Definitely not a general grocery store, but good for little things you might have forgotten, alcohol, or really good pizza. I really recommend this place for anyone looking for somewhere comfortable with amazing scenery! The host was great, everything was nice and clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook most nights, and there was plenty of space for everyone. Fantastic stay!
