The ease of checking in and out was appreciated. The house is exactly as advertised it was clean and had a nice outside area. We would definitely rent again.

This is the ONLY low rating I have ever given to any house we have rented. From the moment we booked until we checked out, the communication with Vacasa rental customer service was terrible! They were rude, and unprofessional -hard to believe Vacasa is in hospitality business. Each customer service person gave a different information or copied/pasted language from the listing rather than actually answering the questions. It’s like renting a house from ChatGPT. Would never rent from Vacasa again and don’t recommend Vacasa to anyone. I wished I have seen Vacasa Fire Island reviews on google before. It’s 1.7 and I think it’s generous. House- The house has a nice structure, good rooms, nice pool, good location. YET….. Dirty. We had to wash all dishes and kitchen surfaces. Food stuck on the plates and glasses. Kitchen cabinets and drawers with stains and dust. Dishwasher does not clean well. Bathroom sink with stains and smelled. Towels stained and smelly. Things were just sloppy- no care for the guests or guests’ experience by the management company. The worst rental customer service experience. AVOID if you see Vacasa as a host.

Perfect cottage for our family of 6. Kids loved the pool and short distances to town or the beach.

The house felt very much like a used rental house that has not been kept up v. a nice home (as we assumed by the pictures). We stepped on two rusty nail tacks (one in the pool, one on the deck), got multiple splinters because the deck has not been treated and the hot tub indicated that it had not been serviced in 173 days. The outdoor shower also didn’t work and the lawn was unusable (bricks everywhere, filled with dirt, etc.). There was no guide in the house to indicate what restaurants were nearby, etc. like you would normally find. I’ve never rented through Vacasa, only direct with a homeowner so this may have been the issue.

The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the response rate on issues. The combinations to the bike locks were incorrect and when I called and messaged someone about it no one responded. They had 7 bikes we couldn't use because of this which was disappointing since it was something we were looking forward to using while staying at OBP. Also they haven't cleaned the hot tub which was also an amenity that was something we were looking forward to using while we stayed there. The house itself though was overall so beautiful and clean! Regardless of those hiccups everyone had an amazing time and the house itself creates an amazing space that is so secluded and because of this we would definitely book again.
