Stayed Aug 16, 2025The house was spacious and well appointed. By far, the biggest issue is the house's location right on a terribly busy highway. The road noise was very disruptive for sleeping. The bedrooms are 20 feet or so from the busy road. The entrance was hard to find, especially at night. Bushes on the property near the entrance need to be cut back for better sight views. The beds were extremely soft and unconfortable. We like to cook our own food and the kitchen was not well equipped to do so.As i said it is a spacious home but the road noise alone is a reason I would not stay here again.

Stayed Aug 11, 2025This was a great home! Easy check-in, great location that was 5 minutes from the harbor driving, 6 minutes to the beautiful botanical gardens. The home was cozy and fit our needs. Our only little suggestion is to trim the bush by the mailbox because it was hard to see oncoming traffic when backing out of the driveway.

Stayed Aug 3, 2025Really lovely home. If you're sensitive to road noise (we are) just sleep in the bedroom facing the back yard, it was just as comfy as the master. The kitchen is perfect, the back yard is gorgeous to watch sunsets from.

Stayed Jul 28, 2025Great location to Boothbay Harbor, Wisscassett, Botanical Gardens, and Maine Aquarium. Reasonable rate. Large enough home for more than one couple, or a family. Beautiful artwork throughout the cottage. Good size kitchen.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was both clean and comfortable. Just a short drive to Boothbay Harbor where we enjoyed many very good restaurants. We also took a whale watching excursion but didn't see any whales. We spent a day at Popham Beach and two days at Acadia National Park. Both are highly recommended. The rest of the days we spent exploring the Botanical Gardens, the Maine State Aquarium, Southport, and the Boothbay Brewery, which was nearby the property. We used the onsite grill to make a wonderful steak and lobster meal. It was wonderful!Maine is a beautiful state and we all enjoyed exploring it. Thank you for the sharing this property with us.

Stayed Oct 11, 2024The property worked out fine. Once we got the heat turned on and the smoke alarms working, we enjoyed our stay. It was a quick car ride to Booth Bay and right around the corner from the Botanical Gardens. We came for the pumpkin festival and the location was about 15 minutes away.

Stayed Aug 10, 2024Couldn’t check in on time due to cleaning company still there while my young child sat in car on side of road, unable to go to the bathroom, “walk to town” is actually 2 miles away, house was not cleaned well and after being told by the host they would refund us- they refused to. The house had stains, smears, old food, dirty tubs, unclean dishes and overall was unacceptable. The larger bedroom doesn’t have doors on either entrance (It’s more of a loft style) and because the other main bedroom had a large white stain on comforter and a bunch of spiders and bugs in corner of room and windowsill we opted for the very bright and non-private loft-style room. We found old candy wrappers and dirty used sock in bedroom. Host was unwilling to work with us which is the most disappointing part. We spent the first and only night there re-cleaning items, inspecting the house for what else we might find, bringing all of the blankets etc down to the washing machine, rewashing dishes and after a full day of travel we were so exhausted. We didn’t have time to relax because we woke up and began packing. We went to the gardens we had tickets for after breakfast and got back to the house and left after lunchtime, cutting our trip in half.

Stayed Aug 4, 2024The location was very close to a city park. This park was the best park I ever took my grandkids too. The home was beautiful with gorgeous furnishings . The beds were comfortable. The owner was very nice. Although we didn’t use them, there was a very nice game room. You can take the free trolley (please tip) about a half mile from home and this takes you everywhere until 5 pm. That is my suggestion because you don’t have to worry about parking. You also get a birds eye view of all the beautiful things in Bar Harbor. There is a city park on stop that has a beach. It was rocky but so much fun .

Stayed Aug 6, 2024We so enjoyed our stay! The house had everything we could need, and was centrally located close to everything. The master bathroom was absolutely gorgeous, and the house was spotless and updated too. It was great to have washer and dryer available at the house, and the beds were super comfy! Our host Alan was so easy to work with! Would definitely stay here again!
