Stayed Jan 25, 2026This house is very spacious and was clean and comfortable. The master suite is on the opposite side of the house from the other bedrooms offering quiet and privacy if renting with children or another couple. The kitchen had some essential spices and condiments and had sufficient pots and pans. Unfortunately, there was only a breakfast bar for inside dining. The kitchen opens up to the living area which has a wall of sliders that open to the lanai. The lanai and pool have a great view of the canal and are quite private considering the house is in a populated neighborhood. The pool was well-heated and large enough for lap swimming. The lanai is nicely furnished but lacked loungers. There is a nice large table on the lanai for outside dining. We were very impressed with the responsiveness of the owners in dealing with a couple of problems that arose. Once the unusually cold weather warmed up, we spent most of our time just relaxing on the lanai or in the pool, with a little golfing thrown in. We’ve been visiting Florida for many years and no longer feel a need to be “a tourist”. Port Charlotte is however a great base from which to explore Florida. The central location is within a two hour drive of 10 Grapefruit League baseball teams, as well as numerous beaches and local shopping areas. The Sarasota, Tampa, Orlando, and Naples areas are all within a doable driving range. Overall, I would recommend this rental.
