Stayed Dec 31, 1969The rental was as expected, clean, and a great home for a crew of 9 climbers wanting to be close to the climbing at Otter Cliffs. The kitchen is well stocked, with a huge number of plates, bowls, cups, and gear including a blender, coffee machines, strainers, pots, pans, and so on. I brought an espresso machine with me and the modern (GFCI) electrical system handled it with no trouble. I'm allergic to cats and some dogs. The hosts seem to be keeping dogs successfully to the mudroom, and doing a good job with cleaning, as my allergies were not triggered by staying here. Some notes to ensure your expectations are aligned so that you also think it's 5 stars. - The two rooms with two beds are connected by a thin door, so don't expect much acoustic privacy. - The upstairs king bedroom has a funky feature where a very thin person could get in without a door, so similarly adjust your privacy expectations. - The downstairs king is right near the living room. It has the most privacy once everyone has retired for the night, but the least when anyone else is downstairs. - The mudroom doesn't seem like a great place to sleep unless you have dogs out there that demand your company. We were able to squeeze 9 into the 4 rooms, but if we needed another one in the house we probably would have put them on the very comfortable living room couches.

Stayed Sep 3, 2024Northeast Harbor very picturesque! We liked it better than Bar Harbor because it was so much calmer without the crowds. We were able to go for runs and hikes right from the house and we loved the Bucking Lobster truck down by the water. Scott was very responsive even when I mistakenly texted him late at night. The house is clean, comfortable and in a pretty, quiet neighborhood. We cooked dinner every night and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Very relaxing vacation!

Stayed Jun 18, 2023Our group of 10 enjoyed our stay in Northeast Harbor. We were a short walk to the little town's shops and restaurants, a 20 minute drive to Bar Harbor, and even less to Acadia. My kids were thrilled to find some games in the house! One note, the two rooms with twins beds have a connecting door between them, so the rooms with queens and twins are all connected to each other. The door shuts/locks so this was not a big deal, but we were not expecting it so I thought it was worth pointing out.

Stayed May 30, 2023My family of 8 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was very spacious. Married couples (2 married couples) and the 4 single adults/kids all had separate beds, which made our overnight stay very comfortable. We were only at the property early in the morning and later at night when we finished our Acadia park/Bar Harbor activities. This property is not adjacent to Bar Harbor. It is approximately 20 minutes away. That was not a big deal for us, especially since it was close to the different openings into Acadia (including the “quiet” part of the Park, which we thoroughly enjoyed.). This property was quiet and clean and spacious and comfortable which is what we wanted after long, adventurous days in the park. I would stay here again if I were traveling with this group. The host was very responsive.

Stayed Jun 14, 2022This house sits just behind the golf course in Northwest Harbor. The hidden trails behind the golf course up to Lower Haddock Pond are a wonderful treasure to have stumbled upon during our stay. The Schoolhouse Ledge Trail shocked us with its beauty. The short walk/ride to town offers great shopping and the Pine Tree Market for any food item you may need. If you go early, you can catch some inexpensive lobster rolls as well!! There is also a coffee shop McGrath's with small gifts and lots of books and local maps. We also enjoyed the farmer's market at the Marina. We made several purchases here for our daily lunches. We stayed in this rental with our family of four. We enjoyed the fire pit and ping pong table. We only used two rooms; the house can sleep up to 10 very easily with multiple rooms upstairs. Access to Acadia's carriage roads is very close. One could very easily ride from the rental to the carriage roads for a fun day of exploring Acadia! Traveling to Maine is not an easy adventure for my family to conquer, but this house made it a wonderful trip to remember! Thanks for being an AWESOME host!
