The property was great. It was clean and spacious. The appliances worked accordingly. We got a lot of use out of the refrigerator and the washer & dryer. The beds were very comfortable. There was a manual that came in handy. The location is wonderful with beautiful views. This was a great stay and we really enjoyed it.
Overall not great. Missing a lot of the amenities that a home would have like extra toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, coffee maker, extra towels. Some things didn't work well (TV, Streaming, dryer) and the house was a bit rundown around the edges. Also the shower stall upstairs is unmanageably small. Suitable place to stay for a few days, spectacular views, good access to lots of Skye highlights, and easy to walk to the supermarket for some food.
We enjoyed our stay! Only downside was upstairs shower was out of commission. This was a problem as we had five folks who typically shower each day and this slowed our departures down each day. The host was able to accommodate our late arrival. We were notified the day before out arrival that the shower was out of commission and when we asked when it would be repaired, the response was on day we left. (on;y stayed 3 days). Overall would recommend !
On arrival towels were damp and smelt disgusting. Had to be washed before we could use them. Contacted Stayz and it took 24 hours to get a response. Styling in the site photos had all been removed leaving only the bare presentation. It has potential to be a lovely property but no pride is being shown in the upkeep. On a positive note it is in a great location for the Quiraing and Old Man of Storr walks. Would recommend booking restaurants as they are very limited in this area.
The house is clean and spacious and looks like it was recently redone in most of the inside. Directions to the property were a little confusing since there is no house number for GPS. Wet towels were left on beds and were musty. I am guessing they weren't all the way dry and they thought they would dry that way, but didn't. We had to rewash. Front patio needs work so it is assessable for sitting and taking in gorgeous view. Needs a toaster or toaster oven. Minor issues. We would stay here again.
The house is accurately described by owner….in a good location overlooking Uig Bay. Good restaurants nearby…(encourage to make reservations.) The garden is unkept as described by another reviewer, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying this place. I left a bag of clothes/souvenirs there and the owners were very helpful to forward them to me. Very appreciative for their assistance.
The property was accurately described and internally, was clean and well presented. We had an issue with the upstairs shower (it was broken, but this was fixed promptly). The kitchen was in need of a decor freshen up but was very clean and appliances functioned well. Could have done with some more kitchen utensils (eg cheese grater, extra wooden spoon) but overall, reasonably equipped. Our only real disappointment was the state of the garden - it was overgrown and untidy which is such a shame. The patio area has fantastic views over the bay and it was weed ridden with no furniture. The property could be improved with some outdoor seating where a cuppa or a glass of wine could be enjoyed whilst taking in the wonderful view. Finally, the location is great - close to so many sights in the northern part of Skye, the ferry port to Harris is on your doorstep (as is Big pottery and the Skye Brewery), a couple of lovely pubs/hotel a short walk away and the local shop (Rankins) was very well stocked. Sort out the garden and next time you'll get 5 stars (yes, we would return). PS Sharon the local lady who looks after the property for the owner was lovely and very helpful.
Really pleased with our stay in Uig. The house was very spacious with everything we needed for a relaxing holiday.
