"Lochsie"
This is well equipped, high end accommodation. A place for those who's time out and creature comforts are important to them.
The kitchen, dining area and living room are open plan, allowing a feeling of space where you can enjoy your complimentary bottle of wine. You are on holiday after all!
The large bathroom has both a bath and seperate shower. You will find a selection of toiletries by Aaran Aromatics, a local boutique company. Feel free to take the "minature" bottles home with you.
A kingsize bed awaits you in the relaxing bedroom, furnished with solid light oak drawers, bedside tables and wardrobe where you will find a toweling robe each.
But enough of the facts, we thought that we would let those who had stayed before you share their impressions:
" The decor was modern and reflected the location, it was so nice in comparisson to other cottages we had stayed in. I felt I was staying in someone's home."
"Well equipped and furnished beautifully"
"We spent everyday out while late walking and climbing but no matter how wet or windy it got, the knowledge we had a real home from home to come back to was a genuine comfort"
" A great base for exploring the island"
"My wife struggles to sleep in strange beds, but the mattress here was a delight and the bedding fantastically clean"
"The huge bathroom was fantastic and the shower really hot and powerful, essential after a long day"
We would be delighted to welcome you here.
Beautiful cottage. Clean and very friendly and helpful people
Really lovely place to stay. Perfect location if you have a car.
Have stayed here twice now and can’t wait to again. Great location, close to Portree, and the space is perfect and has everything we need.
We recently spent a week in the Lochsie Cottage. It is very comfortable, well equipped and was spotlessly clean when we checked in. The cottage is a great location from which to explore the Isle of Skye. It is a very short drive into Portree for groceries or restaurants. We found downtown Portree to be congested with people, cars and insufficient parking so it was nice to get away to the solitude offered by the cottage. If I could make one suggestion to the owners it would be to include in the cottage a binder with operating instructions for the appliances and perhaps a little info about the area (recommended restaurants, etc). We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and the appliances in each one are just a little different. While it was fairly easy to figure things out, some instructions would have just made it quicker. Most VRBO’s have such a binder. It’s a small thing but just a nice touch. Overall, we were totally pleased with our accommodations and would certainly recommend Lochsie Cottage to anyone visiting Skye.
Spacious cottage perfect for 2 people. Very clean, quiet and not too far a drive from Portree village. Would recommend and stay again.
Very cute cottage with plenty of room. Nice kitchen.
Lovely cottage, lots of space and fittings of a high standard. Everything we needed was available. Can easily highly recommend.
This quiet and beautiful cottage is even nicer than it looks in the photographs. We loved the location - just a few minutes from the turnoff to Dunvegan and to Portree. It's right off the main road, but peaceful and has beautiful grounds. The cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable when we weren't out sightseeing. The washer/dryer was much appreciated as this was mid-trip on a long journey. The newly remodeled kitchen was so nice that we ended up cooking every night instead of hassling with reservations at restaurants. We would definitely recommend staying at Lochsie Cottage.
Beautiful location and comfortable , well equipped cottage. Just beware of the awkward turn off the main road down to the property. There is an alternative route if you turn off at the signpost to the camping pods. The road is rougher but the turn on and off the A87 much easier to negotiate.
A charming cottage, very comfortable, very clean and quiet. The location is very good.
I recently stayed with my child and baby. It is spacious and clean with everything you would need in a home away from home. The property is just as it appears online, well appointed and comfortable. It has washer/dryer combo, dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove top, fridge with small freezer. The location is quiet and close to town. I loved our stay here.
All of the photos are accurate and the cottage is lovingly cared for by owners and staff. We enjoyed 6 nights here and would recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy peace and quiet on the Isle of Skye.
A wonder place to stay to enjoy the sites on Skye. Our hosts were very obliging. Would definitely stay there in the future.
We spent three nights in this lovely, well-equipped cottage. It is a wonderful location as a base to explore Skye. We loved it.
This was a wonderful little place to have all myself. Had everything I needed for my stay. Kitchen was well stocked and made cooking easy! Location is slightly far for walking to town, but would certainly be do-able. Was a very quick drive to all I needed in town, and easy to access places I wanted to see. Had an issue with the washing machine, which was handled in 10 min. Someone quickly came to look at it and gave me an easy option for laundry when it proved to not be reparable during my stay. Can't wait to come back.
Nice big cottage, big bathroom and living area. Nice welcoming bottle. Only remark I have is that things are slightly old, doors don't close easily and the curtains are not dark enough.
It is a lovely cottage. Has everything you might need. We had issues with the “Welcome” tablet. It was really never resolved. As Americans we were sadly unfamiliar with the washer/dryer together thing so there was a learning curve. The cottage was clean but could use a regrout in the shower. We had a wonderful stay and customer service was very good. Would stay again.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you for three nights when we visited Skye! The cottage was clean, quiet, and had all the comforts of home to make our visit wonderful and relaxing! We appreciate your care, and would love to visit again! - the Pearmans from Nashville
Fantastic stay. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly and were more than happy to help us out when the lock on the door broke. Would definitely stay here again
Very pleasant stay just south of Portree. Prime location for excursions throughout Skye. Home included all the amenities one would require. This may be typical but we awoke to a handful of very small slugs crawling on the floor and wall. We did not sleep with the windows open so they must have snuck in somehow. A small negative that didn't impact our stay but be on the lookout if you have small children like us.
Lochsie Cottage is ideally situated close to Portree. It is very well equipped and the decor and furnishings are great - everything is as described and it was very clean. There is an attractive garden to sit in too.
Went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Thanks to Ben for all his help.
We were thrilled with our stay at this spacious well-equipped cottage! The birdfeeder outside our window sets such a peaceful atmosphere along with it’s distance from all other establishments. We requested help with use of the VCR and reported needing a mat to feel safe in the shower and the needs were met in less than a half hour. Great service.
Our stay was fabulous, we only wish it could’ve been longer. The cottage is adorable and a great location for a quick drive into Portree Harbour. We hope to come again in the future!
Beautifully presented cottage. Clean and comfortable. Would stay again.
We enjoyed our stay and consider the property excellent, but with one or two minor grumbles. The WiFi needs improvement. All very on off, working then not working. The Your Welcome tablet didn't work. When we arrived it was plugged in to the sockets to the left of the TV. So we ignored it. We worked out just prior to departure that you need to double push a plug into those two sockets before a connection to power is made. End of grumbles!
