Southern Comfort is a large 3-bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom house located in the picturesque gated community of Misty Mountain, 3.3 miles from Cashiers and 3/10 mile from the Sapphire Valley Resort. The very spacious entry level comprises an open plan kitchen with an island, a dining room that seats 6, as well as a living room that has a wood-burning fireplace and satellite TV. French doors open to a covered deck area with a sitting area with a gas fireplace and a dining table. The King master bedroom is also on the entry level, and this very large bedroom has a private attached bathroom that has a jetted tub as well as a walk-in shower. Off the bedroom is a large walk-in closet as well as a private office. There is a flat-panel TV in the bedroom with satellite TV. Upstairs to the two guest bedrooms - there is a King bedroom that has its own private bathroom as well as a flat screen TV with satellite TV service. There is also a trundle bed in this room. There is also a Queen bedroom which has an attached private bathroom. Both bedrooms are connected via a balcony overlooking the lower-level kitchen, living room, and dining area. This home backs up to Highway 64; there will be road noise.

Misty Mountain offers access to a community pavilion that offers an outdoor fireplace, picnic tables, 4 gas grills, his/hers bathroom, and a large kitchen with fridge, microwave, and stove/oven. Great place to hang out in the evenings.

This home comes with the option to purchase Sapphire Valley Resort amenities. These amenities are not at the home. They are in a separate drivable location. You may join for $5/day or $25/week per person. Your amenity card will allow access to 2 outdoor swimming pools, one indoor heated pool, 2 hot tubs, wet sauna, exercise room, arcade, ping pong, outdoor miniature golf, horseshoes, basketball courts, tennis/pickleball courts, playground, track, picnic tables, community center, organized excursions to Cherokee and the Biltmore House in Asheville, a 9 hole (par 3) golf course, Zip-Lining, High Ropes Course, Fairfield Lake boating amenities and discounts on ski lift tickets and ski equipment rentals during the winter season.

Your reservation includes a damage protection plan. The damage protection plan is $50, and it covers up to $3,000 in damages. In lieu of purchasing the damage protection plan, guests have the option to choose a refundable security deposit. If you would like to pay a refundable security deposit, please contact us. The security deposit is $500 and will be administered subject to the NC Tenant Security Deposit Act.

    This house was the perfect escape from a busy life for my husband and I and our 2 kids/spouses! Everyone had their own room with full baths, the kitchen was equipped nicely as we all had a cook day, the house was beautiful and the location is perfect to all areas cashiers/ highlands etc. the house was very clean and very usable friendly. Only negative was you can hear the road noise the woods behind. But it never bothered our family - we lived the easy in and out quickly. Thank you to the hosts for such a wonderful visit!!

    We couldn't have asked for a more convenient, yet remote-feeling, location. If you're staying for more than a few days, you need to stock up on basics (garbage bags, paper towels, dishwashing tabs, etc); we also discovered that bath products were not included. Not a demerit, just a note for guests. Luckily the Ingles is 5 minutes away. This particular property is right next to the highway, so there is a bit of road noise, but it's mostly during the day. Our favorite part was the unexpected playhouse in the back!

    House is great. Driveway is pitiful. I do not recommend using it without a SUV or truck. We accessed through the neighbors driveway. No cell service. This wouldn’t be so bad, but there was also no internet access. Not sure what we would have done had there been a medical emergency. It was impossible to communicate with the rental office with no phone service. We went to the physical office twice to try and get the issue resolved to no avail. Hard to plan activities with no way to check access, menus, operating hours, or weather! Such a disappointment.

    Beautiful cabin with outdoor gas fireplace- slightly distracted due to backing up to highway, but the location was incredible for daily hiking to beautiful waterfalls. Comfy beds, well equipped kitchen, games and a wonderful vibe. Loved it!

    This was our second visit. Our favorite floor plan. All the houses are well planned. The house does need blinds in the family room and upstairs bath. I can see the woods do provide privacy but, most folks would want blinds . Fire place was fabulous. Always a wonderful visit.

    This house was the perfect stay for a long weekend mountain getaway! This stay is minutes from downtown Cashiers and the local Ingles - very convenient location! The house was very clean and kitchen was pretty well stocked. We had 3 couples and a dog stay (great pet friendly stay!) We had Mr Bear come visit us one night but he kept to himself and wandered away. The outdoor covered deck and fire pit was so peaceful! I wish it was a bit more cooler when we stayed, we would have enjoyed it more. This is a stay we will definitely want to come back to!

    Southern Comfort was a great home for my family to spend the Thanksgiving holiday. It is well appointed with large comfortable bedrooms for all. We all enjoyed spending time together in the large open kitchen and family room. The best part of the house was the outdoor living area with a gas fireplace and private wooded yard. This location is convenient to all amenities and you can walk to most with a shortcut across Highway 64 to Redbird Golf course and River Run.

    Very clean property close to all activities in town, comfortable for family with kids, modern, cozy fireplace areas. However the property is right next to loud highway and can't be avoided. Suggest blueooth spaker system to cover the noise from the road.

    We loved this area and this house! We usually stay in the Brevard area but this location changed our future plans. We were close to Cashiers and Highlands and the drive to Brevard was reasonable. Due to COVID, we did cook in more but look forward to exploring the dining options on our next trip. We did enjoy our pizza night with wings and pizza from Slabtown Pizza. There is lots of shopping nearby and hiking. The guys loved their fly fishing excursion with Headwaters. We owe a shout out to Savannah who promptly responded to our call for batteries for beeping smoke alarms and to David for getting the gas logs operational with batteries too. Our only complaint is that the draft from the indoor fireplace can be quite overwhelming. The smoky smell really bothered us.
