Southern Charm: Home is minutes from downtown w/a cozy sitting porch

Very cute home would definitely recommend. The hot water was just a little tricky to figure out how to work it in the tub. You had to pull the shower up get the water hot and it really got hot then add the cold. But it's very Charming old house and would definitely stay again if was in the area.

The Good: Hosts were polite and allowed us to check in an hour and a half early, and they tried to be accommodating. Good location, a short Uber drive to most attractions. The Bad: 1) It’s very misleading to say the Cottage “Sleeps 6.” Yeah, maybe if it’s 3 “couples.” But not if the family or group includes people who can’t, or don’t want to, sleep in the same bed! For us, a functional sofa bed would have solved the problem. As it was, the sofa bed was not functional, and my teenage grandson had to sleep on the couch, with no sheet! We had to wait till next day to get a sheet for the sofa; 2) TV’s in the bedrooms were either inoperable, or unable to connect to the house’s regular cable service. Maintenance guy was unable to get them operable. 3) Not easy for 6 people to share such a tiny bathroom. It was hard to get a good hot/cold water mix in shower! 4) no ice in freezer, had to fill ice trays & wait till next day for ice.

Everything was great! Some of the towels had stains but no big deal. I would also add a picnic table to the back yard. Great shady trees. Also maybe a rug between the two beds.

Overall a great place

Great location and good for a smaller group or family of 4-5! Had a small group in town for a volleyball tournament that got rained out but we were still able to walk around Germantown and close to other great places.

Great home! The living room was spacious for hanging out, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable.

House was clean and in a great neighborhood.

Absolutely perfect location for walking all around Germantown! My daughter loves there so that was the central area we wanted to stay in. Beds were extremely comfortable and plenty of towels provided.

This was the cutest, homiest place! Having the parking in back was really nice since the streets fill up in the area. The owners were super responsive and really had the property set up with everything you could need. Loved it!!

Only a couple things, the drain in the bathroom shower is very slow, the address given was also slightly incorrect. It should say north instead of south on the street. Besides that, the place was very clean and well put together with great character in a very safe and welcoming environment. All of us enjoyed our experience for a very reasonable price compared to everything else around here, and all of us would 100 percent be willing to stay again.

It was a wonderful location. Perfect for a weekend get away. Close to everything. Walkable community. Restaurants and coffee within walking distance; quiet and not crazy crowded.

Everything was clean. The host was accommodating to an early check in for us that made things much easier. It’s a good spot for downtown Nashville!

The location was perfect and the home was very comfortable. The bathroom was fairly tight, but doable. The faucets in the shower were very difficult to coordinate. It seemed to take a long time to control the temperature of the water. A suggestion might be that they also leave some teabags. Each time I wrote a question to Sara and Rowan, they responded right away.

Host was amazing and the unit is central to everything in Germantown.

We enjoyed our stay & appreciated the ability to walk to many local restaurants. The location was handy for sightseeing. The house was cozy with a well equipped kitchen.

Rooms were comfortable; bathroom was very tight. All rooms were very clean. Tankless hot water heater was too small to handle water flow to bath tub making it impossible to take warm bath or to adequately control water temperature while taking a shower. Appreciated access to washer and dryer for doing laundry.

It was a cute little home and the beds were comfortable. Great location with easy access to everywhere we went. It all needed a deep cleaning, especially the bathroom. There's also a soft spot in the bathroom floor that will need attention before something happens.

The cottage was beautiful - clean and really well decorated, very comfortable furniture, all the basics needed in the kitchen, and in a fantastic, walkable neighborhood. Top of my list for any future Nashville visits!

Just wow! I felt like I was in my grandma’s home fully remodeled for today’s times. Sara and Rowan have a gem in this home and the location is ideal for walking; even to downtown.The beds were so cozy and comfortable, and the front porch was inviting for morning coffee. They even left a welcome basket of snacks that were happily eaten. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and was easily accessible. We even enjoyed Sunday football on all three tv’s. Ha! The place was immaculately clean and nostalgically reminiscent of my childhood days.Checkout was easy and efficient. Parking and check in/out was efficient and easy.I will check here first when returning to Nashville.Thank you for a fabulous experience!

Our stay was really perfect. The cottage is as advertised; a couple miles from downtown, interesting neighborhood with restaurants, host was very communicative.

Great little old charm place centrally located in a walkable yuppy area. The beds and linens were comfortable. The shower knobs were an issue for us too, it was difficult to adjust hot water properly and to turn the water off. I’d recommend that the owner resolve that issue since several guest have mentioned it. Cleanliness was ok , but we gave 4 stars because the front porch needed attention with cob webs. The owner had coffee and plenty of dishes to cook light meals. We really enjoyed our stay at this little cottage.

The location in Germantown is great, with walking distance proximity to cafes, bars, restaurants, parks, etc. We admired some of the charm in this restored house, such as the original hardwood floors, glass door knobs, etc. The updated HVAC worked very well. However, the bathroom is just the opposite. I was scalded by the shower, which after running a minute at the proper temp turned super hot. When we called the host, she agreed it is a problem, said it's old, and referred us to the info book in the living room. We did not know it was there. A note on the bathroom wall is needed. But even the instruction about the shower was inadequate. The instant water heater is great, but way too hot, given the danger of the inadequate controls. Given the cost of the unit, the owner needs to install a new water control valve and shower diverter.When I also mentioned excessive black mold in the tile grout, the owner sent her maintenance man to spray it. Whatever he used was ineffective, even after he scrubbed it. I recommended full strength beach or Tilex. He came back later and it helped, but the mold did not totally disappear. A simple retiling is needed. And perhaps the painted-over wall light above the sink could be replaced. One additional observation: Although the description of the kitchen does not include garbage disposal or dishwasher, it would be better if the list specifically said no garbage disposal and no dishwasher.

It was a nice small house in the very popular area of Germantown. The private parking lot in back of the house had plenty of free parking. We went to ten restaurants in the area by foot. The only drawback we had was trying to figure out the shower.

This cottage was perfect for our short stay in Nashville. It was very close to downtown. The neighborhood was super cute and quite. The cottage it self was very clean and having its own parking lot was a huge plus. We had an issue with the original door code but the owner was very easy to get ahold of and fixed the issue right away. Highly recommend! Would definitely stay again!

Everything went really well. Check in was easy. The location of the cottage was great. Easy to get into downtown, and there were plenty of restaurants, bars, and some limited shopping within a few blocks of the cottage. Parking included was very convenient.

I loved the location! The home is close to everything we wanted to do! The shower was very difficult to adjust. The water would go from scorching hot to freezing cold in the middle of the shower. The furniture in the living room was uncomfortable. However the beds were so comfortable! I slept wonderfully! We loved hanging out on the porch and people watching. The neighborhood is very quiet with a lot of friendly people. Broadway was a 12 Lyft ride. It was only about 6 minutes away. I would definitely stay in this neighborhood again.

The home is in a great neighborhood. It had everything is described and more (soap shampoo) in the bath tub and some board games. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The only thing I would point out is that the bathroom door does not lock but we would stay there again!

What a find. The house is so qaint in a lovely active neighborhood. We will definitely come back next time we come to Nashville.

We stayed five nights. The cottage seems to be in a safe area (thank goodness) and has almost everything you need. The issues we faced were, most importantly, the hot water. They responded quickly to our inquiry about the hot water not working. Apparently we were just turning the hot water knob on too far, it can only be turned on a little bit or the hot water won’t come. The bath tub never gets hot water unless you turn on the shower. The next issue is the water pressure in the shower is almost non existent, it’s pathetic. For those two reasons alone I wouldn’t recommend this place, but there’s more. The parking area is a tight squeeze because of the giant pink dumpster there as soon as you turn in from a tiny alley. The dumpster is being used on the home construction just out back, and had people digging around in it (dumpster diving) for scrap wood at all hours of the night. We could hear them from inside the master bedroom.We could also hear the construction that started on that house Sunday morning at 7:00am. This same construction had the driveway entrance/exit blocked with their truck when we wanted to go out for the day. And finally, the most petty of all, is that there are no curtains, and the sun rises right on the master bedroom windows around 6:30am. There was no sleeping in late at this VRBO. Also, the couch looks to be very old. As I said, the hot water and lack of shower pressure is enough for me to say Look elsewhere, there’s plenty of better places.

My wife and I stayed here with our 2 teenage daughters. Worked just fine. The shower is a little tricky- we had to look at past reviews to figure it out. Loved the private parking around back. Super quiet and close to everything (within 5-7 mins).

This property was just perfect for my sister and I. We came for a long weekend in Nashville and this worked out great. We checked in after a day of travel and the snacks and water that were waiting for us was a welcome treat. The host was very communicative and answered all of our questions extremely timely. The area of Germantown is very cute with a ton of historic homes so it was fun to just walk around the neighborhood. A quick Uber ride to downtown for the live music and bars make this location ideal.

Owner was very responsive to questions. Lovely location. Directions on using shower would be nice.

Enjoyed our stay in this cute little cottage. The location was perfect. It was a nice quiet neighborhood, but close to Germantown amenities. Host was very welcoming. Only flaw was the bathroom. It's a charming old house, but the bathroom need a bit of work.

We were in Nashville for the Southern Festival of Books at Centennial Park. Location was perfect!! Wonderful restaurants and wonderful neighborhood. The house was just right and we had everything we needed. Hope to be back!

Loved the quaint little home which was located in an amazing community. Lots of places to explore in Germantown, great food and experiences. The walk to Broadway was manageable and very enjoyable. The bathroom could use a little TLC, but overall we were very happy with this location and would definitely stay here again.

Overall, we LOVED our stay! Would 100% stay again. The cottage was super cute and comfy! The beds were amazing. Snacks and bottled water were much appreciated! Everything we needed was walking distance, and a short Uber to Broadway. The only piece of constructive criticism I have is that the cottage is in need of a deep clean. Particularly in the bathroom. Walls, baseboards, things like that could use some attention. I’d still give our stay a 9.5 out of 10, and highly recommend!!

Best of both worlds! Close enough to “bustling” Broadway - yet far enough away in peaceful (& historic) neighborhood of Germantown. Excellent communication with host and well-appointed, clean home. Perfect for our needs for a family of four. Thank-Q!
