Southend Bungalow

Our reservation for October 25th - October 28th, 2025 was double-booked. The host's failure to manage their calendar properly caused a major crisis for our trip.The severity of this error was compounded by a total lack of proactive communication. We only discovered the cancellation 45 minutes before our scheduled check-in because we reached out to the host for check-in instructions.This gross negligence occurred during a major high-demand weekend (Buffalo Bills vs. Panthers in Charlotte), where alternative accommodation was extremely limited and significantly more expensive. The last-minute notice completely ruined our travel plans and forced us to scramble for another place to stay.To their credit, the host did immediately process a full refund to us directly, so we did not have to wait for the VRBO platform cancellation to receive our money back. However, this excellent handling of the refund does not excuse the host's fundamental operational failure and the immense stress caused by being stranded at the last minute during a peak event.Future guests should be aware that despite the fast refund, the risk of a last-minute host-initiated cancellation and the resulting travel chaos with this property is very real.

Host really made sure we knew what to do when arriving at the house and was very responsive. The house is great - we loved the room-darkening shades, the queen-sized beds, lighting, and privacy of all three bedrooms. The living room was my son’s favorite - he was able to hook up his Xbox and play with his friends after school while we were still away. The proximity to my daughter’s home in Freedom Park Neighborhood was an easy walk and with the beautiful weather we had, it was perfect. Highly recommend this property for your stay - it’s near all the important stuff in Charlotte and is comfy and clean!

3 adult family members to visit son. A great location, and walking distance, or short car ride to plenty of restaurants and bars. There were plenty of dishes, coffee maker with coffee, and lovely back yard if you like to sit outside! We enjoyed our stay very much.
