Stayed Aug 6, 2022We expected to find some defects and maybe some signs of use by multiple families each week however, we found the outside deck and pool dirty, with misc trash and old pool toys . It looks like this house needs major upgrades and aesthetic upgrades for the price charged. Owner needs major investment in updates and cleanliness. There were screens torn out from the hot tub area and trash left behind from previous tenants. We also took the trash out Thursday night and only one bin was emptied so there are four full trash bins that will greet the next renters. The theater room has been abused with hole in the door, and the TV in upstairs family room would not turn on - called twice about this but no response. Pool - missing handrails and some tiles missing. Door to outside pool area will not close - safety issue for our small children. Underneath side stairs - trash and left behind debris from previous rentals Stove has seen better days - very dirty Trash - all around the outside of the house Gas grill was covered in grease and leaking from bottom. Stayed Aug 24, 2019When we arrived all trash cans and recycling cans were full of flies and over flowing. Upon entering the house we discovered ants everywhere. The house was dirty. The realtor sent a exterminator two days later which did nothing but make the problem worse. The bugs were on the ceiling, the walls, the drains, counters, bedrooms and dishwasher. Every morning you had to clean and kill ants before you could make coffee. We left nothing on the counters but they still came back. We went to the realtor office and discussed and they agreed to send the exterminator back on Friday the day before we were to leave. We refused, half of our party had left early due to the ants and the spray had made the situation worse the first time, we didn’t want our last day filled with more chemical sprays and ants falling on our heads from the ceilings. During the week we sent pictures of tooth brushes filled with ants in the bathrooms and videos of ant trails in the dishwasher to Surf and Sound Realty of Avon NC and asked for compensation for a ruined vacation. Their answer was since we won’t let the exterminator back in on our last day, there was nothing they could do. We are extremely dissatisfied with Surf and Sound Realty, this house is a health hazard and they had to have known before. The house is infested and we are sure it has been for a while. Two family members came home sick with a bacterial infection. Save your money and vacation elsewhere!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We enjoyed the home very much. It needed a little upgrading in the kitchen. Also it needed to be cleaned better between guests. Also the home is so large maybe an intercom would be helpful.
