Absolutely beautiful home and so relaxing!!! Loved the views and privacy!!! With 5 couples, we had plenty of seating for game nights, family style dinners and enjoying each other's company. The pool, hot tub and game room were so nice to have right there if you wanted to just relax.Plus, with the space you could wander off by yourself for some alone time to recharge!

Hits: This home is very comfortable for a large group and we really had a great time here. It's kitchen is well equipped with lots of good quality cookware, etc. Family room is well furnished. Beds are comfortable. Lots of TVs and decent Internet. Pool although small was clean and maintained as was the hot tub. Nice large deck also. Misses: Outside needs cleaned up. It appeared junky with a broken deck chair and other items just laying all over. The small gas grill is chained to a post. The lagoon beside and behind the house was dirtied with an assortment of litter which greatly hurts it's beauty. We felt sorry for the resident turtles. Sorry for the lengthy review. We really wanted to love this place....

Dealing with Vacasa was a nightmare. I spent at least an hour trying to get a response every single day of my vacation. No one there followed through with anything and no return calls. House was dirty, dead bugs, including cockroaches, and found one climbing up the kitchen walls. Toilets clogged. Just awful. Would only recommend to run the other way when you see Vacasa!

It was a good house to stay in. Close enough to the beach to drive and visit everyday but pushed back on the sound to have some nice privacy. The whole place is surrounded with beautiful wild life. The elevator was a great plus: we had two elderly and a 6 month pregnant woman who were forever grateful for it even though it was slow. Pool looked a lot larger in pictures but still was a lot of fun for the children. We had 14 people and there was plenty of room for everyone to do their own thing.

Elevator was not working. Had to lift my disabled uncle in his wheelchair up and down 8 flights of stairs all weekend. Pool heater was broken. Was not able to use the pool during our stay even though heated pool was advertised Was not allowed to lower the cooling system below 74 degrees. Sighns on each floor said dropping temperature to lower than 74 would break the AC. That is extremely warm. Dryer did not dry towels. After 3 full runs dryer still did not have. Towels dry.

The house is in a great neighborhood and located just down from a shopping plaza with a grocery store, Duck Donuts, Dirty Dick's Crab Shack and some other stores, which was nice. There's also a little elevated path across the street that leads to a small private beach which was cool. Lots of space for all of us to relax and loved that the bedrooms were almost all king beds, and really comfy ones at that - we all had a great night's sleep every night we stayed! The furnishings are super outdated though and really unappealing (e.g., coral walls, red couch) and not enough comfy seating in the TV room for more than 5/6 people unfortunately. A giant sectional would be a welcome upgrade, same with ottomans instead of clunky (and dangerous) glass coffee table/side tables. The grill was a hot mess, which we spent a solid 30 mins scrubbing down - it looks like one of those cheap camping grills you'd see at a rest stop. Investing in a real, proper gas grill would be a welcome upgrade too. The pool and hot tub were great, although the pool is quite small. We were shocked at the charge to heat it and disappointed the 'max temp' was only 80 degrees (for context, we have a 20x40 large inground pool at our house, and the actual cost to heat it to 90 degrees, which is what we keep it at, is less than 10% of what we were charged for Coral Castle... and we live in the next state so I can't believe it's NC power rates that make up that 90% upcharge). The elevator also malfunctioned while we were there and when we reported it, we got a message saying sorry, we'll let the local management team know but it was never fixed. Luckily we were all able-bodied but that could have been a huge issue had we had a handicapped person in our party. We were also surprised at the lack of outdoor furniture (again for context, we have multiple cushioned loungers and outdoor sofas at our house) but suppose that may be on account of the insane winds that apparently impact the outer banks every day. Overall I give Coral Castle 4 stars - it definitely has the potential to be 5, but needs updated furnishings, a better grill, and more reasonable pool heating charges.
