Berlin, Maryland
4 BRs - 21/2 Bathroom, located on a wide canal with 75' docking area for your boat. Relax on the upstairs deck and take in the View of Assateague Island. The island may be easily reached by two Wilderness (top grade) double kayaks and one Wilderness single Kayak provided by owner. House is located near to open water (Assawoman Bay) which is known for its delicious flounder, blue crabs and clams. Ocean city is just minutes away to the east from the downtown boardwalk and the historic town of Berlin that was the filming location for Violets are Blue, Tuck Everlasting, and the Runaway Bride.
Snug Harbor is a small, peaceful waterfront community that is buffered from the noise, traffic and mobs in Ocean City. It is conveniently located approximately two miles from the White Marlin Mall or from the Sunset Marina, home to some of the best seafood dining facilities that you will find anywhere.
Beautiful property and location. Highly recommended.
This is a really nice, spacious home, that sits on the canal. We had great dinners around the big table in the back room and enjoyed playing the games there. There were also books available for borrowing. The owner is super pleasant and helpful. He even told me about a NASA rocket launch from Wallops, VA, that we were able to watch from the upstairs deck. The next door neighbors on the left/hand side were very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with the wife while sitting out back. Overall a great vacation and and wonderful home to rent!
We had a great week at the 'Cottage by the Sea', traveling as a family with 4 adult children. The cottage was very comfortable and bigger than we expected. There is a nice room on the back side of the house which is not pictured in the photos. This room was great as it had a large table that comfortably fit 8 people for family dinners. Also, this rental was better stocked than any other rental I have ever stayed in. Everything we needed was provided from hand soap to tissues and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook family meals and store leftovers. The location is great as it is on the water but it's located on a quiet neighborhood road. We brought our jet ski and had no trouble putting it in/out of the water using the local launch and had it dockside for the duration of our stay. Steve the host was great and provided a lot of information about the area. The house is older (not modern) but it is comfortable and has a lot of charm. Even if you get a rainy day it has a comfortable feel to it so you can settle in and watch a movie or read a book in an inviting space. Internet signal was great (which is important for us) and good TV options too. It has a feeling of home away from home! I would stay here again for sure.
Thanks again for another great stay. Hope to see you again soon
I enjoyed my stay and would love to stay again.
Thank you Steve for sharing your home with us.
The way the owners describe their rental is very true to reality! We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and found the location and neighborhood very convenient. Working with the owners could not have been easier. I highly recommend this property and am looking forward to staying there again soon.
Great week in a great house right on the water, relaxing quiet neighborhood. Very peaceful
If you have a boat and a boatload of friends/family this is the place for you! We were a family of 8- to include my 2 college age, one high schooler and my husband, plus my parents, sister and her dog. The pictures do not give this home the respect it deserves. So as the old adage goes “don’t judge a book by its cover.” The house is larger than it looks on the outside. It has a good old-salt of the earth feel. The bones are good and you can feel the memories that have been made in this house over the decades. The owners have done a great job and keeping the ambiance of the old-time beach feel with old boat books from the 40’s(cool to us as boat owners), books on the history of OCMD and pictures of his family at the beach from years gone by. The twist in the steps to the second floor give you a feel of being on an old boat. We spend many a nights sitting under the sky on the second floor deck. Absolutely stunning. The deck room has a table that sat all 8 of us comfortably. It was a place of meals and games. The dock was very easy for our 23 ft boat to stay. We viewed many turtles, osprey, cranes and birds off the deck. This home is one of the few remaining cottages on snug harbor road. Many have been raised for large 3 story modern homes. The kitchen was well stocked with all the needs of cooking. We did a lot of cooking and had all the utensils needed. Steve recommended to my husband that we try clamming right out in the bay and we did just that-and made a large pot of clam chowder to have with dinner! All beds were comfortable. The house was cool and comfortable for our late July/early august stay. The upstairs shower struggled with water pressure. And parking was a challenge for our four cars and a boat trailer. But we made it work. Steve was very responsive and accommodating for everything. Neighbors were friendly and informative. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Thank you Steve for sharing your beach cottage!
Our family enjoyed so very very much. The cottage had everything we needed and could want. This property is a rare find. It was so enjoyable inside and out. We especially enjoyed the dining room which we as a family could enjoy our meals together and playing games and enjoyable conversations with our family with no distractions. We enjoyed the rear deck on the canal watching the boats, ducks , birds and many turtles. The community and neighbors were very welcoming. The owner Steve was great to work with making our stay very memorable ( thank you Steve). Can’t wait to book for next year!!
Nice location Steve is a great property owner plan to rent next summer
My family and I had a wonderful OC vacation this year in Snug Harbor. The beach cottage was very nice. We had three families, 10 people and there was plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the back deck and balcony and it was nice having our own boat dock. We had a great time going out on the boat to Assateague Island. The kitchen is very well equipped with just about anything we needed and the beverage cooler was nice. We had several family dinners in the quaint dining room. The neighborhood was very nice as well and the neighbors we met were very pleasant. We felt very much at home and our time there was very relaxing. The owner, Steve was very pleasant to deal with also.
Our family goes to OCMD every summer, but we usually stay down near the boardwalk. This was our first time at Snug Harbor & it will now be our yearly destination. The pictures do this cozy cottage no justice. It is huge! We adored every room in this home, all with their own uniqueness. Our favorite room was for sure the back dining area. The room is wall to wall windows that all open. The breeze was absolutely amazing. We loved dining in there, playing family games & just watching the boats go through the canal. It was awesome how at home you feel. The neighborhood was very nice & all the neighbors were welcoming & friendly. The cottage was just 8 minutes from the beach & boardwalk. It really was the perfect place for a family trying to be away from the commotion & chaos of the city. This house had everything our family needed & more. We cannot wait to book with them again for next season.
