Stayed Aug 9, 2025The house size and layout was perfect for 5 adults and 2 small children. Plenty of indoor space to spread out and the kitchen area was really large. Perfect front yard and deck areas for letting dogs out. Some repair work needed but it was still fun to fish and swim from the dock. Great vacation location!

Stayed Jul 26, 2025Nice comfortable house on a cove with easy access to larger body of water. The covered dock provided shade while also access to water views. The house itself was comfortable, however the door locks need attention, as does the air-flow downstairs. Otherwise, nice and clean and we enjoyed our week.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025The house was perfect for us. The downstairs living room/kitchen was nice to have with older kids who stay up late. Dock and lake access was great. Thanks so much for sharing your home.

Stayed Jun 22, 2025I am going to give an honest, practical review of this lake house. I loved the location and the dock was wonderful! The ramp going to the dock made it so easy. Getting from the top deck to the lower deck wasn't super easy if you have young kids or elderly people, but it is doable. Getting into the house was also a challenge carrying all groceries and things up to the top floor because there isn't any access to the main floor from the driveway, however, it really isnt terrible unless you have elderly people or young babies/toddlers. The house had lots of room, but: the AC did not keep it cool, it is very outdated as far as lighting goes. The kitchen is HUGE and there was one old little light in the middle and one over the sink. The beds in all rooms except the master were not that comfortable at all. I would recommend changing those mattresses. In one bedroom, the bed frame is on wheels, so it rolls every time you turn over. I would stay here again! I love the location and proximity to Bridgewater marina ( from the water). The cove is a deep cove which is nice because the water is cleaner! I just wanted to be practical and let people know about some things that made it more difficult, but not impossible to stay here. When going on vacation and paying all of that money, you want to be comfortable and at the least, feel like home. There are a few things that could make this better. But again, we spent 99% of our time outside, so the docks and water were great! The deck had 2 large picnic tables and a grill. The bottom covered porch was huge and shady! I dont mind that the house wasn't fancy! I Just need comfortable beds, AC (the temps were in the 90's for June) and lighting to see well!

Stayed Jun 15, 2025This house was fantastic! The location was great, and the option of the top deck for looking at stars was wonderful! My family loved out stay here and the dual kitchens helped with storage for meals and drinks.

Stayed Dec 26, 2024We always stay on the lake the week after Christmas. This house is in an awesome location for where we fish. The only issue we had was that the house had minor cleanliness issues which we reported.

Stayed Jul 7, 2024Great house with plenty of views of the lake and easy access to the dock. AC worked great during the hot weather while we were there. Lots of good restaurants around. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed May 24, 2024We had a great time, just a few issues that needed fixing.1. The top dock needed some of the decking boards to be fastened down. They were sticking up and could cause someone to fall.2. In the upstairs master bedroom the split heat pump unit was working properly. But all things considered everything went well we were still very satisfied and we would recommend this place for anybody that like the lake life

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Our party was four adults and two kids and there was plenty of room to spread out - we had a great time and spent a ton of time down on the water! We had plenty of room to dock our pontoon and bass boat. The interior of the house is clean, the upstairs is recently remodeled and it is nice. There is plenty of entertainment downstairs for the kids/everyone on down days.I think some of the previous reviews were a little exaggerated. A majority of SML was developed in the 80s and before then, it was small community fish camps (some of which you can still see) and summer homes. The water in the house is fine for drinking and bathing - no issues. Yes, it is a gravel but well maintained road to the house, like many roads in the area. Compared to a lot of homes on this lake, the steps and ramps to the dock were a breeze. If you have never stayed on Smith Mountain Lake, most homes have extremely steep grades and lots of stairs to get to the water's edge. There was no mold. The kitchen has everything you need. There are lights on the dock. We would rent again.Thank you for sharing your home!
