Stayed Apr 12, 2026This was a beautiful property, and the owners were great at communications. It was just my husband and I and our dog but it can easily accommodate large groups. It was in very close proximity (7 miles) to downtown Pittsburgh and two great small towns of Ben Avon and Sewickley, so you could have your downtown experience and small-town walking experience as well. Unfortunately, the terrace had not been cleaned and opened yet for the season. That typically happens in mid-May. The only thing pet owners may want to consider is there isn't much in the way of grassy areas for medium to large dogs however we were grateful that they were pet-friendly. Makes all the difference when traveling as a family. I would highly recommend the property!

Stayed Oct 30, 2025This is an AMAZING family-friendly homestead, not just a 'home'. Thoughtful touches are everywhere that create ease and joy. From the wreaths on the front doors to the artwork, and the outdoor area, there is beauty and functionality everywhere. We had no children, but the scope of items available for young children would be welcome to parents. The 1st floor loft space was invaluable for our family who cannot do stairs; able to be closed off as it's own suite at night as it houses the powder room. The kitchen is a cook and wine drinkers dream, more spices and cookware than I have at home and 2 wine refrigerators. Not an issue for us but worth noting that the kitchen is raised - requiring a step up and down to enter and exit from both sides - and the loft is a step down. Both could be navigated with a walker and canes, no worry! The hosts are incredibly communicative with clear information sent online and in the home.

Stayed Oct 23, 2025Very welcoming! We had no problem sharing the second floor bathroom even when we were all getting ready for the wedding. So sad it was too cold to enjoy the lovely outdoor space.

Stayed Aug 19, 2025overall, great owners, great location & spacious house! We had 6 family members (siblings, cousins) so we were glad to have the extra bathroom in the loft. The listing is a little unclear about the bathroom/bedroom situation. There is one bathroom on each floor. Main bedroom floor has 3 bedrooms (potentially 6 people) and one bathroom. The loft on 3rd floor has a king 2 twin beds & full bathroom. Also parking can be a little more clear in the listing. My cousin has a camper and just happened to drive her car instead, but we didn't know about 'no campers' until we got the check in paperwork! Plenty of parking... we had 4 cars and it worked out great. On a noisy street, but they had a white noise machine that was awesome! Overall great stay and would stay there again.

Stayed Aug 8, 2025The Pittsburgh House is indeed clean, comfortable, and convenient as described. Very convenient to so much Pittsburgh has to offer! Check-in was a breeze. The house is gorgeous! Kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of room for family to gather inside and out. Originally the family had planned on going out for breakfast but no one wanted to leave the house! So we just made coffee and ate at home. The private parking was great--we didn't have to hunt for spaces somewhere or be concerned about our cars. Beds were very comfortable. My only caution would be the busy street it borders on (noise) but that would not keep me from renting that house again. The Pittsburgh House is truly a gem!

Stayed May 31, 2025Our multigenerational family had a very lovely stay at The Pittsburgh House. It is nicely located just outside the city and the owners provide off street parking. The house is beautiful and well stocked. We particularly liked the big dining table where we could all sit, talk and enjoy our coffee. The bedrooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable and had quality linens. We utilized the Day Suite on the first floor for an 86 year old with mobility issues and we appreciated the set up in that room. We thank the owners for making this home available and would definitely recommend this property.

Stayed Apr 4, 2025The Pittsburgh house was perfect for our family visit to celebrate my moms 90th birthday. We housed my husband and I , our daughter and her family and our two dogs for two days. The location was ideal to get to and from the venue and my family in Sewickely Pa. Such a unique property with plenty of amenities.

Stayed Sep 20, 2024Our stay in the Pittsburgh house was the nicest rental property we’ve ever rented. The house is absolutely beautiful. Beautiful artwork throughout the house. This house was fully stacked , just bring yourself! Everything was provided. Very safe nice neighborhood. I realized after I left that I misplaced a very special ring. Bob & Sheila went to the house and looked in every nook and cranny for the ring. They went above and beyond. I found the ring in my suitcase 🙄 I Highly recommend this property

Stayed Aug 3, 2024The house and its location are fantastic. A five-star review because of the amount of space we had for a group of 7 (all adults except one). The house is as described and located not too far from the city, but far enough to not have to deal with the downtown traffic and the tunnels. The previously reported issue of traffic noise through the windows is real. Most of the windows in the house are made of stained glass (very nice!) but are old and those newer windows appear to be single-pane glass. Nevertheless, the road noise did not bother us after we fell asleep, so it was not really much of an issue.
