Sleek Retreat - Sleeps up to 10-12 This amazing house won House of the Year,

So there’s nice to say about the place it was clean, right on the bay. It was also not a place for kids it’s very adult the homeowner has in my opinion way too much personal stuff. So many locked cabinets. Not much storage space in rooms other than master which is indeed unique. While I love technology, this place had way too many mislabels remotes. Too many stairs and huge step down to the living room. So definitely not recommend for littles. It’s best suited for couples. Also the owner “stopped” by a few too many times to pick up deliveries that’s a bit strange when I’m staying somewhere it is mine to enjoy. He was very nice but a bit intrusive even walked in once which was way weird. Anyway I don’t want to give a bad review as it’s a good home for couples just not families. Also AC that functioned for downstairs/kitchen and office bedroom didn’t cool things down so if it hot out I don’t recommend we happened to be there when it was warmer than normal. Shower on the floor with kitchen needs a new faucet it’s very fickle. Also needs an umbrellla or two on the patio as the morning sun is brutal. Overall if we had just been a couple not family I think the experience would have been much better.

If anyone rates this less than 5 stars, then I feel sorry for you. We had rented on the beach side last year and it was miserable. The beds, the noise, the lack of standard items…. This year we found this house - Sleek Retreat- by accident. It looked amazing but I was apprehensive. My husband and I, our adults kids and their spouses, and our dog stayed here. Checked in on Saturday afternoon and checked out the following g Sunday. From the moment we stepped in, it was amazing. Mirrors everywhere. Glass. Step down living room. HUGE HUGE cantina doors. A great patio with steps to the bay. We knew we were in a special place. Not your typical beach house. This one had its own personality. A HUGE personality that needs guests who can appreciate the grandiose-ness of what a great home it is. The kitchen is fully stocked with supplies and spices. Ice machine, keurig, double door fridge, dishwasher, bar area. The bedrooms each have their own personality too. We were 6 adults and EVERYONE loved their rooms and beds. OMG THE BEDS!!! The first night we laid down, it was like a soft hug. We all slept so well!! The drop down shades kept the sun out when you wanted it. We made dinner every night except our last night. We treated the house with care as we know we want to return. There are beach chairs and games galore. The ROOFTOP!!! Amazing!!!! You do share with the neighboring house - just respect the rules which is easy. Towels galore. A quick walk to the Pacific side or get a paddle board and enjoy the bay. I had emailed the office a couple of times with questions and they were SO responsive!! We live in Del Mar but our kids are out of town so this is a great vacation for all of us. Our dog loved the place as he watched people walk by. He enjoyed the bay walks and water. Honestly I don’t think you will find a more comfortable and welcoming home in the area. Wonderful property, plenty of room, host was very accessible and accommodating. Super close to the beach, restaurants, shopping, attractions. Watched fireworks from Sea World most evenings. Relaxed on the rooftop deck or patio every morning and evening. Don't let the rental car place talk you into a larger car or suv. Garage is tight with two vehicles and parking up and down the beaches can be a challenge. Definitely recommend staying here!

Fun house, great location.

We enjoyed the house very much, the owner is very friendly and communication with him was great. The house has a lot of lights with smart switches, the lighting in the house is amazon, the location and the view are great. We walked to the beach everyday. I was a little bit disappointed that the SPA on the roof was removed.

Our stay at the Sleek Retreat was wonderful. Maurice was so responsive to our questions and an excellent host. The house is as pictured and had so many high end touches, it was a joy to stay there. It is really best for only 6-8 guests. The location on the Bay was great (amazing views) and is in our favorite section of Mission Beach, with amenities all in walking distance. A very special and impressive house!!
