Glenwood, New Jersey
Perfectly restored Grist Mill with waterfall and barn setting. Most picturesque place in area. 50 miles from heart of NYC. Plenty of parking. Period antiques and articles of a bygone era. This house has everything. 5 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms many with 6 ft tubs, gas fireplaces throughout home, open patios, lush greenery, commercial refrigerator and freezer and stove. Safety with house being completely sprinklered. This place has to be seen to be believed. All two miles from Vernon Valley water park and ski center. 8 miles from Warwick NY and along the Appalachian Trail in Waywayanda Park. Horses, petting zoos, country stores, nurseries, wineries, breweries and restaurants in abundance. Located in the black dirt region of NY and NJ where farms abound with Apple, peach and pumpkin picking just minutes from house. Plenty of off street parking and plenty of room to enjoy everything. Located within two miles of two wedding venues, the inn is your base camp for everything the Atlantic Highlands region offers.
We had a lovely holiday at the mill. Great pics with the waterfall in the background.
Gathering for a family funeral we came from many directions.. Tennessee/ North Carolina/ Arizona / Albany/NJ/ Savannah/ The house was warm and welcoming with lots of space and choices.. the setting allowed us to be together with space. INTERNET. WONDERFUL KITCHEN AND A WATERFALL ....fireplaces were wonderful- it was the perfect spot for 12 of us to be together in an amazing home at a very sad time. It was perfect.
Large house with many bathrooms. Beautiful fire pit overlooking waterfall. Host was easy to contact and listing was accurate.
We had a wonderful stay at the Grist Mill for our family event. It is larger than the pictures portray. The kitchen has a commercial stove and hood that made cooking for our large group very easy. And there is a great game room that provided extra space for the kids' to segregate to. We will definitely consider renting the Grist Mill for future family gatherings.
Loved everything about this place. Everyone loved having their personal bathrooms, very clean, comfortable, historic but all the modern touches. This is our second time staying at the mill and we plan to come back. Kevin is very responsive and a great host.
Our large extended family has an early Thanksgiving every year (all beds usually filled with longer distance folks, up to 35 for dinner on Saturday). This is our third year at the Gristmill and it continues to satisfy everyone. We've already booked for next year!
We stayed for a wedding at crystal springs resort. It was absolutely perfect. The rooms are huge, and have huge in suite bathrooms. Able to get around easy, and the area is beautiful. Wish we could have stayed longer.
A truly unique property - complete with fire pit, stream and its own waterfall! We had plenty of space for eight of us to have room to spare and celebrate the life of one of our beloved friends who passed away two years ago. We were also pleasantly surprised by the nearby places to eat, golf, get supplies, etc. A very special weekend for us.
This is a beautiful four story mill that was converted into a gorgeous home. There are plenty of original mill workings in every room. The bedrooms are large and each has en suite bathrooms. There is a secluded back yard with a beautiful private waterfall and creek. If you like historical homes, privacy, and waterfalls, you won’t be disappointed. And if you like walking and hiking, there is plenty of that nearby. We had a small problem when we arrived, but Kevin was quick to respond and sort it out. We would definitely stay here again. It was perfect for our family reunion.
Huge Home, with lots of room in each bedroom with personal Bathrooms. So much room in this House, was on Old B&B so everyone has as much privacy as they want. The beautiful setting sitting by the streams and waterfalls was unbelievable, We slept with our windows open to listen to the white noise of the water. Perfect for our Bachelorette Party. Loved it and visited the Wineries in area too.
Gorgeous property with its own waterfall. While there are lots of stairs, the views from each of the 5 bedrooms are beautiful. Not far from a wedding venue and a small town with a major grocery store. I got lots of kudos from the family for this selection.
The pictures do not do the house justice—so full of history and charm! And our host was excellent—accessible and helpful.
The house was perfect for our big holiday group. It’s an old house. So. Old problems. But Kevin was awesome and was there to help with any problems. Plenty of room for everyone. And stores nearby to get what you need. Only wish there was a second refrigerator.
Second of, hopefully, many more. Another great time!
If you have a large group looking for an unforgettable experience stay here. The work that went into making this 1805 Grist Mill into a VRBO was amazing. Big rooms and each one with it's own bath, a large kitchen and the unique ambiance of the old mill oozing through every room. The waterfall outside of the mill was the ultimate!
Plenty of rooms, beds & baths. Host was very accommodating & responsive. All amenities were accurate and fully functional. Would definitely look to stay again if we were in the area.
Beautiful home in serene location. Plenty of outdoor space and seating for 8 dear friends celebrating our 60th birthdays to relax and enjoy conversation with wine and the sound of the waterfall! Antique furnishings, stone walls and fireplaces added to its charm. Microwave works fine once the door is lined up correctly, should be repaired. Would suggest bringing a tea kettle. Keurig provided. Beds were comfortable and linens were adequate. WiFi worked well, brought a Bluetooth speaker for music. Would definitely return if in the area.
Just a pure joy and adventure to spend a few days staying in Kevin's former grist mill!! So much character and charm! And that waterfall-side deck/firepit area - too much fun!
A very beautiful home in a gorgeous setting. The town was also adorable and everyone we met was very kind. We enjoyed sitting by the waterfall and enjoying each others company when not on Post for events. All the beds were very comfortable. We did have a small issue with hot water at times, but it was never too bad. The only thing I would recommend is that they purchase a new microwave because it is very difficult to use. In all, we had a wonderful time and the home only added to the amazing graduation week at West Point!
Large, charming and roomy house. Fun house to explore. Rooms were large, beds comfortable and plenty of it. Because of the age and antique nature of the premises, don’t expect efficient, modern amenities. All the major necessities such as plumbing and utilities worked well. Wifi was weak at times and the the temperature control was uneven in different levels of the four story building - in April this was not a major issue, but imagine in mid summer or winter this could be. All of our party loved our stay although the anxiety level of the mothers of the toddlers was sky high. I would hesitate to recommend this place if there are more than two energetic toddlers in the group. Older children will do fine. A few more luxury items , especially in the kitchen would not hurt but there is everything you need for a large family gathering. Would recommend highly. Thank you, Kevin!
