Short walk to Beach with Pool, Game Room, and Spa!

The best part of our stay was the quick, responsive, and knowledgeable communications with our host, James. The beach house is conveniently located next to a small lake and short walk to the beach. Having a pool and hot tub certainly added to the stay. We had 7 adults and 4 kids which the house accommodated nicely. It has several porch and deck areas where everyone could find some private time. It could use some landscaping and outdoor cleanup to improve overall enjoyment.

This home is in desperate need of some maintenance. The screens in the screened in porch were all torn. The sliding door to the porch does not operate properly. It was extremely hard to open and close. The majority of the dining chairs have holes in them. The pool was full of leaves and the filter was not running when we arrived, however someone came to address this shortly after I spoke with property manager. This is our third time renting a home in Corolla and this is by far the worst kept home we’ve stayed in.

Overall the property had everything we needed. Both families had a great stay with use of the pool, hot tub and game room. My only constructive feedback would be new pots/pans. The host James was very communicative and jumped on any needs right away. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time here! The house was roomy and comfortable, and the 10 minute walk to the beach was reasonable and enjoyable. We had an issue with a fire alarm and James and his team were super responsive and helpful! The only caveat with the property was the outdoor shower was broken (they fixed it right away during our stay, though) and it was dirty, like it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Other than that, everything was great and having linens and towels provided was also a huge help!

The location of this property is pretty great. The kids were able to bike into town, and we walked everywhere. Once you remember the path/directions to the beach, it’s abt an 8 minute walk. The pictures are very accurate, although the outside of the house, including pool area, decks, furniture and outdoor shower need a good update and cleaning. The outdoor shower is not mentioned in the listing, and it doesn’t work. Disappointed to see it in that condition nonetheless. The pool was cleaned and checked during our stay, which was a great surprise. Overall, the house needs a good updating. Great location.

House matched the photos very welll. King bed and queen beds very comfortable. Twins mattresses were horrible and bunk beds were squeaky. Would recommend changing the mattresses on the bunk beds so everyone can have a good night sleep. Pool table was nice but only has one operational pool stick, if you are going to have a pool table make sure it has good quality equipment. Hot tub was great and in excellent condition. Pool is hot heated so keep that in mind when booking. Parking is very limited. Can only fit 3 cars in the driveway. Walk to beach is about 10 minutes and make sure to remember your path.

The Ocean Sands was the perfect fall getaway for my family over a holiday weekend. Check-in was easy, with the owner sending us the instructions well before we arrived. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed to cook, and there were plenty of linens for us. The location in Corolla afforded us the chance to visit a lot of local venues. We would definitely consider staying here again soon!

Would’ve been 10/10 if the hot tub worked and weather was good

We lucked upon this property being available for a short stay. The house had everything we needed. The owner responded promptly to questions before our arrival. We will check availability when we’re back, and highly recommend it.
