Shorhaus, Gorgeous Main Body Lake Retreat

This lake house was clean, just as pictured, and great for our family.These are minor complaints I think, but things were missing I expected.No pantry or other kitchen space to put the cereal boxes, cookies or other things you bring in.No cookie sheets/baking sheets for our frozen snacks.no Kleenex/tissuesNo bedside reading lights, only ceiling lights/fans controlled by remote. I had trouble with the remotes. There were remotes for everything.Chairs on the fishing/boat dock were beach chairs instead of regular height.In the hall bath there were 6 giant bath towels, 3 washrags and 1 hand towel. No extra anywhere I could find.We had a great time there . I would go again, but either ask alot of questions or bring more of my own stuff.

This was our second time to stay here. Before we left my grandkids said, “can we come back here next year”. We love this house! It’s beautiful and has all the “toys” for kids and adults to enjoy the lake even if you don’t have a boat. The owners were amazing!

This was the perfect property for our family weekend to celebrate a family friends’s wedding. It’s quiet and peaceful on the lake. The hosts have provided many games to enjoy, and equipment for the lake. The hosts were always quick to respond if we had questions.

It was a beautiful place to stay. We had a wonderful relaxing time. The view was amazing. Every night we had nice sunsets. The house was close to town so it wasn't hard to run to the store for necessary supplies. It was a great place to stay.

Hosts were incredibly thoughtful in preparing for our stay. They left a welcome gift with snacks, branded koozies, coffee pods, and a branded insulated lunch bag. There was a JBL Bluetooth speaker available for our use, which we made great use of. Paddle boards and kayaks were a ton of fun and we enjoyed a cornhole tournament with our group using their equipment. The home was comfy and beautiful with plenty of space for everyone. Kitchen was AMAZING!!! Awesome pots and pans, a crock pot, kitchenaid mixer and everything your could possibly need. A couple of things that were not great, but not the fault of our host or the home: there is a dog next door that came out every morning at 6 am and barked nonstop for 20-30 minutes. Bring a nice white noise machine or earplugs and you wont notice.We laid a mat across the small step from the kitchen into the garage-side bedroom. It’s hard to see so a couple of us tripped. Easily remedied with the mat we used!No Kleenexes so we had to use toilet tissue for runny noses, but that worked just fine. If you’re picky about tissues, bring some with you!

Your home was exceptional and had so many amenities that my family had so much fun.Celebrating my wife's birthday there could not have been any better.The weather was beautiful so my boys got to take out the kayaks and we even had a cornhole tournament! Your home is so beautiful and appreciate your hospitality.

Our stay at Shorhaus was great! The amenities and special touches were so nice. The lake view is beautiful and the house is spacious.

Excellent place. Everything that you needed was provided. We came for our granddaughter’s basketball tournament. I didn’t want just a place to stay, I wanted a very nice place on the water. If we ever come back to Granbury, I want to stay here. My wife, daughter and myself have told many friends about this wonderful place.

Our family enjoyed a great Thanksgiving week in Granbury. The layout was perfect for hanging out as a group while still having privacy. The sun porch with games and backyard space were ideal for the kids. Hosts were very kind and responsive to the questions we had before arriving. Would love to come back in the summer and enjoy the lake

This is a little gem! Great views, beautiful, clean home, and great for parties with loads of activities provided. Fully equipped kitchen, two fridges, very kid friendly. We’ll for sure be back!

Beautiful and well-stocked home with great amenities both inside and out. Lots of kid-friendly activities, well-stocked kitchen, great beds, lots of room, exceptionally clean! Can’t say enough good things. Close to lots of fun things to do…Fossil Rim, Dinosaur Valley State Park, downtown Granbury. We also loved just hanging out at the house and in the backyard. It was such a peaceful and laidback place. Host was easy to contact and always helpful. We would come again!!

Very nice place right on the water! The home was equipped with everything you need and easy access to the dock for a boat rental. Never a dull moment with all the games, grilling and water toys provided.

The Shorhaus was the perfect place for our stay in Granbury! Not only is it minutes from town but the location on the lake was awesome! The private cove was great for floating, paddle boards and fishing. The house was very clean & homey, The host were extremely accommodating & quick to respond when we needed to communicate. We’d love to come back to the Shorhaus!!!

Lots of space for activities—all in air conditioning. Lots of water activities for us all to enjoy. Large yard, fire pit, hammock—great fun. Kitchen is well equipped for lots of people. Even 2 refrigerators were wonderful. Not enough space to cover how awesome it was. NO COMPLAINTS AT ALL!!!

Checkin was easy. Kitchen was well stocked with cooking needs. We used the grill multiple times. Property was clean and we had a relaxing stay.

We loved our stay for Mother’s Day weekend-property has a great layout & wonderful position on the lake. Interior was clean and offered everything we needed. Fire pit & Dock area was a great spot to hang out and watch the birds in the morning and enjoy the water toys in the afternoon.Looking forward to our next visit.

We had the most wonderful time at this beautiful lake house! It was the perfect setting for our ladies weekend—peaceful, relaxing, and absolutely charming. The house was spotless, well-stocked, and thoughtfully decorated, with plenty of comfortable space for everyone to gather, laugh, and unwind. The lake view was stunning. The kitchen had everything we needed for shared meals, and the cozy living areas made it easy to just relax and enjoy each other’s company. This was our second time to stay. The pictures are a great representation of the house. It makes you feel like you are home. We are older and don't even make use of all the amenities, but we love it.From the time you arrive until the time you arrive until the time you leave, there is always something to do. There is a game room, a dock for fishing, a fire pit for making smores or roasting hotdogs, a game room, and board games in case it rains or gets too hot outside. And this is the short list. We are already planning our next trip.

We had an amazing time during our stay!! The views are absolutely stunning right on the lake and it was so peaceful. The setup and amenities in the house were perfect for our special weekend!!

Our daughter got married nearby and we rented this home for our family coming in from 3 different states. It was perfect for us and so beautiful. The back yard looks like a park, so nice and green with big trees, a fire pit, and a dock with kayaks. We brought our boat and enjoyed going to Stumpy’s at the marina for dinner and the sunsets on the boat ride back. The house was very clean and updated nicely. Definitely the nicest place we have ever rented. Communication was also excellent. We will definitely be back!

This property is as beautiful as the pictures. The house was perfect & exceptionally clean. There were 5 older women on the trip, & we all had plenty of private space & the kitchen had everything we needed. We sat down by the water every day. We will recommend this house to everyone & hope to go there again.
