Shoreview Chalet with nice Gulf Views

We enjoyed our vacation overall. The space of the house is great. Big and accommodating. The screened in porches are nice. The upper level was a neat space. The home's furniture, supplied amenities (towels, bedding, pots and pans, etc) and decor are all pretty old and worn. When we arrived there was open food in the fridge and cabinets from previous occupants that we had to throw out, including an open bag of brown sugar that had attracted ants that we fought our entire week. We had to clean everything before using it. The house had a strong, musty smell. Everything was in need of a good deep cleaning and updating. Hot water was used very quickly so showers needed to be staggered. The elevator doesn't work, and the only way inside is a lot of stairs. So if you have anyone with limited mobility, or even heavy luggage, it will be difficult to get up to the house. The amenity list stated there was a grill so we planned our menu and did our shopping based on being able to grill. But when we got there we realized there was no grill. We contacted the rental company and the owner brought a grill. We did appreciate that very much!

Location is an easy walk to the beach. Great for families. The elevator was a life saver!

Really enjoyed this property. Location is convenient to the beach, but also very close to pretty much anything you would want to do nearby. House is very nicely decorated. Definitely felt at home. I would absolutely stay here again!

The location and house itself is fantastic. The house could use some furniture replacements and outdoor cleaning (porches were dirty and basement is rank). The biggest BEWARE is that the place offers beach access, but this does not allow you to put a chair or blanket on the beach! The beach is privately owned down to the high tide mark leaving little room for chairs or blankets – Beach owners will call the police to have your removed. You can hike down another ¼ mile to the public beach and enjoy the beach there. The house was large and roomy, great for the eight of us. Rooms had Wood paneling and bathrooms all in great condition and clean. We were there for two weeks and totally enjoyed it.

The home was more than we expected. Can’t wait to visit again ?

It was an absolutely beautiful house to stay in! It was roomy and had everything we needed for our family to eat and play together! We were happy to find that there was an elevator available because houses that near the ocean need to have their living quarters up high. We found the elevator in the back and were able to have my 90 year old father over for a family dinner, which he loved! The decor in the house is beautiful--I loved their china set to use for special times because it matched the placements, table runner, etc. The only downside to our visit is that Red Tide was really bad in the area. The air smelled horrible and made us cough a lot. Also, the Louisiana hurricane effected the wave action in the ocean, which made it hard to swim at the beach, even when the Red Tide warnings weren't as high as some days. Evidently this can happen in the ocean, we just happened to be there at that time. We had fun collecting shells at the local beaches and recommend the Venice Beach gift shop area--it was very quaint and fun!

This vacation home was awesome for my family of 10! Steps from the beach. Beach is beautiful and not crowded at all which we loved. Views of the gulf from your home and on the beach and are breathtaking. Will definitely be back! Highly recommended!

Our vacation here was everything we needed: rest and relaxation for the parents, lots of surf time for the teenagers, and many treasures found with the 7-year old. It was a short 20 steps to the beach; the neighbors were incredibly friendly. This house was the perfect fit for all six of us, and we will definitely be returning for more!

Second year we have stayed here. Couldn’t be any happier with both of our experiences. House is great with plenty of room and is right on the beach.
