Beautiful waterfront views with a private oyster beach. Also, John is a great host!
Great house with all the comforts of home. Sleeping arrangements for our entire group of 8. Fenced yard for pet safety. Owner was great. So friendly and even came over to take a family photo of our group for us. Highly recommend.
We had the most wonderful time at Sherry's Hood Canal House! John is a fantastic host - very welcoming and helpful! The house is cozy and inviting. We felt right at home! We barely turned on the TV, but we did stream a movie and everything worked perfectly. The kitchen is fully stocked with any kind of cookware or utensil you may need, and more! The view from the deck is spectacular! We saw a few seals, and did some kayaking and fishing. We spent most of our time sitting outside listening to the water and feeling the breeze. I almost felt like we were on a boat! It was just what we needed ro relax and recharge!
We had a great time at the property. My boys loved kayaking. It was the perfect size for the six of us.
John is just the nicest guy! He came out on our arrival to greet us but otherwise private. Very comfortable kitchen , dining are and the deck over the water was perfect!
We got lucky awesome weather this weekend. We were able to utilize the outdoor spaces (deck & side yard) for haning out, BBQing & holding a beer pong tournament. Indoor space was great, big kitchen with island to stand around, 6 person dinning table and room for the kiddies to play in the living room. The host lives next door is is super nice. Let us use his kayaks and met his super friendly dog. He was very kind and checked on us throughout the weekend, set up the AC unit upstairs for us on the second day because it was going to be super warm. Oyster harvesting is great too!
My family stayed here to visit our mom/grandmother previously. We all returned from all over the country for her memorial and this house was a perfect gathering place for us. The host was friendly and the house is fit for a large group to enjoy time together.
Beautiful view and probably one of the greatest waterfront locations on the canal. The owner brought us a bucket of fresh oysters that we grilled. Great stay- highly recommended.
Very good
John is a great host!
We had a great time! We loved sitting out on the deck watching the seals popping up and taking the kayaks out for close up views of them. It was fun finding crabs and oysters on the beach as well. The property manager was very friendly and a great source of information about the area and things to do nearby. Would stay here again!
I hesitated writing this review because property manager is very nice and in the end we enjoyed our stay but there are a few things that I do believe need to be brought to a renter's attention. The home is quite dated, has some scary looking electrical things going on, like X'd out outlets and a jbox outside that has a cracked and half missing cover. The most important thing to know is that someone in our party is 6'4 and he scalped the top of his head numerous times on the beams in the home and had to walk with his head at a tilt constantly. The ceilings are very low so if you have a tall person your party you should reach out to John to specify the exact height of the beams to be sure. We were lucky enough that it was nice weather so we spent most of our time outside. The master bedroom does have code height ceilings. All of this can be looked past because the location is absolutely wonderful. I don't think that there could be a better view.
