Couldn't ask for a better stocked kitchen. The pool table and rec room space were great fun. The direct beach access although a bit overgrown, was so handy. This is a great house for a group.

It was definitely worth the money! Michael was a great host! The ocean takes a toll on some window views, but we just opened the sliding doors and windows and it was like we were standing right on the beach. The sound of the waves, the feel of the breeze, and the unobstructed view of and easy access to the beach were outstanding! The house was clean and comfortable. Easy place to relax and feel like a home away from home.

I stayed with some extended family over Memorial Day.This house was amazing! With 9 adults we had enough rooms for everyone to have their own space. The bonus living room and game room were awesome and another way we could spread out during our 5 night trip. The dining area was large enough for us to play games together. The proximity to the beach was a total plus. We walked down there everyday and we sat with the windows open listening to the waves. We enjoyed our stay so much, we booked it for next Memorial Day before we left town!

What an amazing stay! LOVED being beach front with private access, gorgeous views from the house and decks, short drive to so many coastal explores, and a grocery store .3 mile away!! We didn't see any whales, but saw sea lions swimming when we arrived - and starfish & sea urchins in the beach tide pools. The house was VERY clean, even smelled clean right when we walked in the front door. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking needs, even with a great assortment of spices. The house is very spacious, and a fun layout with plenty of room to spread out. Pool table was a big bonus too - we played nightly after dark. Huge family room with a TV. Things to know: there's a jacuzzi tub, but no shower head in the master bath (but full bath upstairs, and shower downstairs), some of the windows had broken seals with condensation obstructing the gorgeous views, and the downstairs level had an off-smell to me, but nothing that kept us from enjoying the pool room. Michael is an super responsive and kind host. I would highly recommend staying here!

I had a great time at Shearwater with my adult children and their kids (my precious grandkids). The kids loved exploring all the different levels of this house and we had plenty of room. As some people mentioned, this rental could use updating; however, it suited our needs just fine. It was clean, beds and linens were great, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The two tables put together in the dining room allowed us to eat at one end and the kids could color/draw at the other end without having to put everything away. If you are looking for a high-end rental, this isn't it ... but the price also reflects that!Being able to look out the windows to the beach was definitely a highlight for us. Unfortunately, it was mostly rainy while we were here (yep, that's March in Oregon!) so we didn't get to enjoy the deck. Having a direct path to the beach for the few times we were able to go there was awesome... and the HUGE stash of beach toys were a hit with the kids. The kids (ages 4-10) thoroughly enjoyed playing in the hot tub and the fact that it was covered made up for not being able to play on the beach more (due to the rain/wind). It would have been nice to have a couple more chairs available for the adults to supervise them in the hot tub, but we made do.Communication with Micheal was great; we had one minor issue (that really was a non-issue after all) to which he replied within just a few minutes. I'd definitely consider this place in the future!

I have hesitated to write this review because the owner seemed like a nice guy and I didn’t want to get him any trouble with VRBO. However, when I thought about somebody else, renting the property without the knowledge that I have Felt I needed to let people know before they rent We got to the property about 5:30 PM an hour and a half past check in time and the owner was still there finishing cleaning up. He showed us how to open the front door because it was very sticky and hard to do. Thankfully, one member of our group was able to figure it out, and they were in charge of opening the door for the rest of the weekend. I knew this was a bit older from the pictures online and that was fine. We were expecting that. On first impression, the place looked clean floors were swept. Kitchen was clean beds were made, etc. However, when I went into the master bathroom, which has a Jacuzzi tub. The first thing I noticed was black mold on the ceiling . I looked into the tub and all of the jets are full of black mold. I started looking around the rest of the house and noticed that while surfaces were dusted, etc. things like decorations hanging on the wall, anything high up, The artificial plants, they were all covered in thick layers of dust. All of the vents in the bathroom were clogged with dust. We tried to use the hot tub one evening, but there is no light outside near the hot tub so you cannot see what you’re doing. I have pictures of all of these things

We really enjoyed our stay at the Shearwater home, it’s just a few minutes away from Depot bay and 15-20 minutes from Lincoln city. Our family liked the layout of the home and it fit our family of 9 perfectly. The walk down to the beach is fairly easy . We would definitely stay at this home again!

We arrived at Shearwater on 9/14/24. The home was easy to find, and right on the water as described. The only thing was that the path to the water was a bit too sketchy for me to navigate (older and arthritic), but the views were absolutely stuffing. There is a grocery store across the street, and the restaurants and tours are only a few minutes away.. The home could use a bit of a deep cleaning, but it wasn't a problem during our stay. There were plenty of towels, and the kitchen was one of the best equipped we have stayed at...the bedrooms were lovely and the beds comfortable. We absolutely loved the evenings down in the living room, with the fire on, and views galore. We will love coming back to this home again.

You can not beat this location. From the top floors you can watch the ocean from the windows or decks. From the bottom floor you can walk right down to the beach by a private path. We took my elderly parents and the main floor bedroom / bathroom were wonderful for my dad who uses a walker and wheelchair. Note that the accessible bedroom is on the same level as the kitchen, dining room and bathroom, but there are 5 steps down to the living room. The downstairs was perfect for my daughter's family with young kids. Lots of space plus a pool table and a hot tub! The upstairs was pleasant with two bedrooms, a bathroom and small sitting area. We came in September and I think the place was due for a good cleaning after all the summer activity, but that is understandable. The dining table is giant and I loved having the whole family sharing dinner. Overall, I am so glad we found this gem and would recommend it for family gatherings.

The property has everything we needed for a fun weekend on the Oregon Coast - easy access to a beautiful beach with tidepools, great location near a market and terrific seafood restaurants, well appointed kitchen, decks & rooms with views of the ocean, comfortable beds. We had 4 families celebrating an anniversary. The host was very accommodating- even had 2 port-a-cribs for us plus a highchair . The deck is fabulous w a short walk to beach . The kids played everyday on the beach , we were very appreciative of the large amount of sand toys for kids to enjoy . Huge - huge dining table , very wide. Multiple rooms in house Very nice white towels . Would of been nice to have shampoo/soap in showers . We crab when we are at the coast but no buckets so we bought some and left for the next group to enjoy . A large pot to cook crabs in would of been helpful . But no biggie - loved the house and space .

Serene is the word I would use to describe my stay. The location is the best we have stayed at in over 6 trips to the Oregon coast. The rocks on the South end of the beach provide great photos of Starfish. The ocean view was frequented by whales (the whale boat tours swarm the area and you will see spouts of water appear before the whale surfaces). Host was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Our week started out stormy, but Sheerwater has so many fun activities that we still had a great time. We relaxed in the hot tub and the billiards room got more than a little cutthroat! ;-) We played games on the big dining room table and even had room to keep a puzzle going on the other end. The fireplace in the conversation pit worked great on cold evenings. There was plenty of space to spread out in and all the bedrooms were very large and comfortable. Plenty of linens, including towels, pillows and blankets. No beach towels. We did wish the big patio doors were all clear so we could watch the waves more, and we felt the home needed a good deep cleaning. After the storm passed, we enjoyed every minute possible on the beach. We went skim boarding and body boarding (bring a wetsuit or it gets pretty chilly.) We spent hours beachcombing for agates. Walked to the tide pools at fishing rock and saw starfish and anemones. Took the little trail to the top of the rocks and watched for whales while enjoying the phenomenal view. We even went clamming and crabbing in Siletz Bay (Ace Hardware has everything you need!). We like to cook our own meals and were a little worried that the kitchen looked small, but it worked way better than expected. Tons of dishes, cups and silverware. Lots of pots and pans, but no skillet or crockpot. Some basic spices and supplies left from other guests. Very nice Weber Charcoal grill on the deck and match light charcoal provided.
