We stayed here with a group of 14 and overall the experience did not align with the expectations set by the listing or the price point. The night before arrival we were informed that there would be no staff on property, even though the listing stated otherwise. We also did not have access to a washer or dryer, which was challenging for a large group staying 6 days. Each guest was provided only 1 towel for the entire stay. There were several maintenance and cleanliness issues that stood out. The bidet in the master bathroom was leaking, and the master shower had a strong mildew smell to the point where it was unusable. We also found mouse droppings in 2 separate bedrooms. To the host’s credit, they did respond by sending someone with clean sheets, but it was still unsettling given the cost per night. We also booked a tea and breakfast service to be catered to the house, which was something offered in the listing and something we were really looking forward to given the size of our group and the holiday timing. Unfortunately, this could not be accommodated during the Christmas holidays. While this was understandable, it was still a big disappointment for our group. The host did provide a refund for this, which we appreciate. The outdoor igloos were very dirty and not usable, which was disappointing since they were a big reason we chose the property. The biggest surprise was discovering cameras inside the home in the kitchen and living areas. This was never disclosed.

Lovely property with great spaces for family interaction. We enjoyed the fire, the views, the hot tub, cooking meals. I particularly love the sun room for coffee and enjoying the view of the loch. The host was able to assist us with a few things and were gracious and helpful. Thanks!

What can I say about Ardhru and their staff?!? There are enough words how wonderful our stay was. The house itself is majestic and picturesque. We celebrated my husband 50th birthday there for 5 days. The booking was seamless and the property manager, Ivana, is fantastic. She helped me plan everything including our private chef Ken and all activities, hiking, whiskey tasting and Highland Games. What a stay. Definitely, will book again if we ever go back to Scotland.

Excellent location, the house is beautifully “ adorned” with an impressive art collection. We and our friends had a great time there!

Our family group of 7 adults were very comfortable in this spacious and well equipped house. The highlight of our trip was the day we spent canoeing, under the expert supervision of Colin and Katrina from Source-2-Sea, which we would highly recommend. We would also recommend adventurenevis.com who guided us on our climb of Ben Nevis.

Our three-generation family of six stayed for five nights in July, it was lovely. Ela was great to work with in the planning (which was last minute) she provisioned the house for us, which was wonderful since we were arriving later in the evening after a long day of golf and a long drive from Dornoch, so the ability to pull together a quick dinner was really nice. She also provided ideas for walks, canoeing sea kayaking, and shopping and sightseeing, which helped me figure out an itinerary that would work for a group whose ages ranged from teens to eighties. She helped to arrange a fantastic afternoon with Colin and Katrina and Source2Sea, they brought canoes to the house and we spent the afternoon canoeing to Eilean Munde. The location of the house demands you relax. It is well-equipped, comfortable and even a larger group will have solo spaces to read or nap or have a drink together. We lounged in the yard overlooking the loch, read, and just enjoyed the surrounding beauty. Also, the wifi was excellent, not always the case in UK rentals! it's easy to get north to Fort William and beyond, or south to Glencoe walks (highly recommended). We hope to be back!
