Semi-Oceanfront Dog Friendly w/ Private Pool, Hot Tub, Game and Media Rooms

Upon arrival we discovered the front entry door lock broken, which the previous party that stayed there in March also called them to fix this, which they didnt do. We also found a strong rat smell on the 1st floor and rat poop in the furnace room. Took pictures and called Ana, our contact person. They had pest control out 3 to 4x, all just used their secret code to get into the house to ck the traps. We had little kids staying with us, so felt uneasy with that. Paid extra to have pool heated and only 1 day was it somewhat warm to swim in. The other days it wasnt heated at all and we were told it could take 2wks to review our refund. The carpets were torn up, vents were filthy, mold on the sliding doors and master bathtub drain plugged up. You also need to bring soaps, paper towels, dishwashing detergent, etc. The views were nice, beds were comfy but wouldnt stay here again.

The location of this property is perfect—while not directly on the beach, it is just one house back with great views and a very short walk to the beach.Unfortunately, the stay itself was disappointing. We were notified two days prior to arrival that the pool was not working, which we understood. However, we were not informed that major repairs would take place during our stay. For four days, there was constant noise from sawing, cutting, and ongoing traffic from work crews, making it difficult to relax.Upon arrival, we also discovered the entry door would not lock. Despite contacting management and attempting their suggested fix, the issue required a full replacement, forcing us to adjust our plans to accommodate the repair.There was also a strong rodent odor on the first floor, and we found multiple signs of infestation. Pest control made three visits and ultimately set traps, catching a rat. They also proposed interior spraying, which we declined.Communication with the management company was poor, with delayed or no responses during these issues.Additionally, the home does not match the listing photos. The carpet is worn, there are unfinished drywall repairs, and vents are rusted and dirty.Overall, while the location is excellent, the condition of the home and the disruptions during our stay made for a very disappointing experience.

The house met or exceeded all our expectations. There was plenty of room for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped. We loved the pool and hot tub. Beach access was right across the driveway. We did wish there were screens in the doors and windows so we could open them and listen to the sounds of the ocean without insects flying in. Otherwise, the house was a great place to stay and relax.

The house was everything we had hoped for it to be. It was comfortable and roomy enough for 8 adults and 2 dogs. Even though it is listed as semi-oceanfront, we didn't have a house in front of us to obstruct our views and it was an oceanfront walk to the beach. We really enjoyed our week in Rodanthe!

House was spotless & extremely spacious. Plenty of bedrooms, baths & balconies. More than enough kitchen utensils are suppled. Great quiet location steps from the beach!

Our family of 6 and our pups really enjoyed this house, it had everything we needed! Loved the hot tub, the proximity to the beach, the space for the dogs to run outside and the heated pool! The view of the ocean was gorgeous and the house is on a private road making for a very quiet trip. Would absolutely recommend and will look to visit again! The hot tub was out of commission for a day but Surf or Sound realty sent out maintenance and got it corrected quickly.

Fantastic time spent enjoying the amenities of this home! The hot tub during the cold days where were my family spent most of the time! Long walks on the beach just a few steps away, surf fishing and a short trip to the pier were perfectly suited to ensure proper social distancing!
