Semi-Oceanfront, Beach Access, Hot Tub & Pool Table

My husband and I stayed at All is Whelk with his parents (in their 70s) and our 3 teens in August. The view from the main living/dining/kitchen floor is just gorgeous. The house was clean, bright, had a well stocked kitchen and the living area layout is great. We love that it had a pool table right in the main living area too. We did some puzzles, read some books and felt very at home! The bedrooms were comfortable and the location is convenient (close to Food Lion and shopping center as well as the drive-on beach access). The walkway to the beach was right across the street, and the street itself is very quiet and residential. The Kona Ice truck made a regular appearance and always drew a crowd. :) For the older crowd: My husband's parents were happy about the second set of stairs being an interior stair, which was helpful for older, less steady legs and the exterior stairs weren't too steep or overwhelming either. All in all, a very relaxing vacation in a very comfortable and beautiful place :)

Great location. Avon is perfectly located near the pier, restaurants, stores and great beaches. The facility was perfect for us and our two teens. Hot tub, pool table, multiple TVs and short hop across the street to the beach. Very clean and wonderful neighborhood.

This property is directly across from a wooden walkway for beach access. Extremely convenient for beach goers. Although it was not mentioned in the description. There were 2 beach chairs and plenty of sand toys available. The house was spotless upon our arrival, beds were made, there was plenty of bath towels for everyone. Most everything you would need is there. The only thing you may want bring along or rent as we did is beach towels for everyone.

This was our second year staying at All is Whelk, and we had another amazing beach week. The house is the perfect location to the beach (including the beach access) and the restaurants in Avon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at All is Whelk. It was a perfect for 4 adults and 2 kids. The home is not overly decorated but that's a good thing. Very safe and kid friendly. The outdoor shower made it very easy to clean off returning from the beach and the mini fridge and bar upstairs made it easy to entertain. Kitchen was very well stocked with all the utensils you would need. Our first stay at the outerbanks and the beach access was right across the road. Very sad to see it's already booked for the time we would stay next year and double the price. I would give five stars ⭐️ but there were some unwanted pests outside on the deck.

House was clean, comfortable and furnished nicely. Fantastic view from the living level! Linens and towels were good quality, clean and fresh. Beds were very comfortable and loved how the bedrooms all had ceiling fans. It was really hot the week we were there, so the hot tub was only used once. The teens enjoyed the pool table and loved the outdoor shower. We thought since the listing mentioned a grill, that it was a gas grill, but it's charcoal. We made it work for the few times we needed to use it. The only thing I would suggest providing for renters would be beach chairs. I know they can be rented, but it would have been nice for a few to be provided with the house, especially with the close proximity to the beach. One other thing, no fault of anyone.... there was a water main break at the edge of the driveway during our stay. I called Shore Details and they made sure it was taken care of right away by the appropriate town personnel. Overall, a great week away. Thank you!
