Secluded Retreat ~ Indoor Pool ~ Hot Tub ~Close To Sundown Mountain

Family weekend 2026 is officially a wrap! An indoor pool is basically a requirement for this crazy crew! The setup at Black Barn is ridiculously perfect for our little family shindigs

This property is amazing. Everything has been thought of. From the indoor pool, pickle ball court, ping pong table, fire pit, you never run out of things to do. Amazing views. Beautiful 6 bedroom home that won't disappoint.

This was one of the best places that we have stayed at. The view was phenomenal, George was excellent with the communication all of the amenities that we could’ve possibly thought of we met the pool was wonderful. I can’t say enough good things about it. the location is perfect. It was a great place to go to open gifts after my son‘s wedding and just relax in between all of the duties that come with a wedding.

Our family had the best time at this wonderful home. Gorgeously decorated in unbelievable scenic surroundings. We have stayed at multiple VRBO‘s and nothing compares to this one as far as cleanliness, things to do, and so very well stocked. Perfect!

Beautiful property and 1.5 minute drive from the Sundown Ski resort. Made for a terrific ski & swim family trip! Property managers were very responsive throughout and the house was perfect for every age - grandparents, parents, teens and kids. Great pillow choices and plenty of space for all ages to play. Fully stocked kitchen with necessities to cook up a storm. Only heads up to note that there are no king beds and the two queen beds downstairs have temperpedic mattresses - so you will sink in a little bit if you're sleeping on those.

Excellent for family, skiers, or anyone. Hard to find a better pool setup, warm temperature, plus without that chlorine effect.

My family and I decided to book the black barn for Christmas and my sister’s 50th birthday week. The location, cleanliness, indoor pool area, and views were exactly what we were looking for. The owners were very attentive and replied quickly. We will definitely stay at this property again next time we’re in Dubuque to visit my sister. One more perk for skier’s is that Sundown mountain is less than 5 minutes away. Everything was perfect. Thanks again!!

This place has it all. Everything clean & it has everything you need for a great stay. Pool, hot tub, pickleball court were a great hit with the family. The layout of the house was great for a big group of people. Kitchen, dining area & living room were an open area. So many thoughtful touches throughout the house. It was just wonderful & we can't wait to come back.

Perfect stay! The hot tub and pool kept everyone engaged. S'mores and a fire were great at night. And we loved the ping pong table! We definitely will be back.

Four of our families stayed at this property for a Field of Dreams tournament. George was a super host and very communicative. We blew a fuse and he was very responsive and came right over. We would 100% stay at this place again! Great pool, clean, beautiful views!

We came in for the Field of Dreams baseball tournament and had four families share this house. It was AMAZING. The house is beautiful and there is so much to do. They have not missed a single detail, even down to coffee, laundry pods and soap/ shampoo in the showers. It was such an easy and relaxing weekend and SO MUCH better than being in a hotel. This house would be perfect for a family reunion, a little getaway vacation, a corporate retreat, or for the baseball tournaments that so many of us come in for.
