Absolutely gorgeous house, super cozy, excellent communication from owners. Literally the best short stay experience I have ever had!
The house is perfect for those who want to stay outside of Silver City in a secluded spot. We enjoyed being close to places to hike and bird.
Online photos do not show the views from this home, which are beautiful. Nothing but nature out of every window. There are multiple patios and decks. Each bedroom has a door out to a patio. The main deck is off the great room. Home is nestled into hillside with massive boulders. Very striking. Super quiet, peaceful, relaxing, and clean. Everything about the home is comfortable - layout, beds, furniture. Furnishings are not new, but they are solid and of high quality. Our teenage son was happy that cell and internet service was strong and reliable. Gorgeous hikes that we could start right from the house. Windows in home are in abundance and are large fixed glass with smaller casement rollouts below. With those open, we didn't tend to get a great cross breeze for our mid-October visit, so if a warmer time of year, I could see things heating up inside and needing to crank down the A/C. Main floor is on the top floor, reached by exterior or interior stairs, and includes living/dining/kitchen/primary bedroom & bath. The primary bedroom has a very large private double vanity and shower, but shares a separate powder bath (toilet and sink) with great room. The downstairs (walkout to driveway) has a second master bedroom with attached private bath & jacuzzi, office with a single bed, powder bath near office, and a game room with a ping pong table. Loved the place and would definitely go back!
Wonderful home in the hills very quiet with hiking trails just out the door. Hiking the “agave garden” was a little rough in places requiring some bush walking, but the 4 mile trail right next to driveway entrance is fabulous.
A wonderful home nestled in a remarkable bit of geography. Exceeded expectations greatly and wetted our appetite to return again soon. We felt transported into the best of nature and also so comfortable at the same time. Thank you The Shapero
Enjoyed the location - spent much time on the property sitting on the deck or wandering the trails. Gorgeous sunsets.
Agave House is a destination within itself. My wife and I rented it as a romantic getaway, and it did not disappoint. The agave were in full bloom during our stay, and all I can say is, Wow! I was not expecting to see 30 ft tall agave lit up in bright yellows and reds. The property had tons of them - a forest of agave. The house is really comfortable and nice, and is in a beautiful spot. Nestled into a cliff rock formation, there are views in every direction. Every side of the house has a porch, so as the sun moves there's always a place to sit and enjoy the outside. If you want privacy, then this is the place. Quiet. Peaceful. The house has eclectic art and everything we needed to be comfortable and relaxed. The property itself has hiking trails and they have a map to follow along with cairns marking the trail. Hard to follow and overgrown - we had to backtrack numerous times because it was overgrown and rugged - but with a little exploring, we hiked most of the trails successfuly. Mountainous, rocky, forested and filled with agave. Killer views and rock formations. Cool hiking without ever leaving the property. We did explore Silver City which is 20 min down the hill. A lot hotter down there. We enjoyed a sunset/moonlight horseback riding with Wolfhorse Outfitters, and explored all the thrift stores and art galleries. Not a lot going on in town and it's a bit economically depressed, but Agave House is worth going to all by itself. Did I mention the Agave were Wow!!!
The house was spacious, the kitchen well stocked and the property has amazing views!
Great!
Great experience all around.
We really enjoyed this tucked away house. Uniquely build around its natural setting of rocks and trees. The dogs and I really loved exploring the large property and the creek running on the edge of the property line. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans but even other things that are not usually found in vacations home, such as foil, coffee filters, some spices, etc. We had some issues with the coffee pot only running half of the water but we just turned it on and off then it would use the rest. Love how the house has so many outdoor patios but we mostly used the one off of the kitchen. A nice place to have morning coffee or watch the monsoon clouds rolling in. I stayed in the bedroom off of the kitchen. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The shower is HUGE. My friend stayed downstairs bedroom with the attached bathroom. The downstairs had a bit of a musty smell to it but once he opened the windows it was much better. Again the rooms were clean and well appointed. His only complaint was about the bed. It's two twin beds pushed together which is not as comfortable. The house is full of interesting artwork and furniture. The location allowed us to easily drive to Silver City, Cliff Dwelling National Park, and the Catwalk Recreation Area. All worth a visit. We were blown away by how good the food was at Buckhorn Saloon & Opera House in Pinos Altos. Both Pinos Altos and Silver City have some very interesting history. Plus great little shops and galleries in Silver City made for a fun day trip. I would highly recommend staying here.
Beautiful rural location with mountain views! 20 min from Silver City. Great get away if you want some quiet, relaxing place.
We loved our stay at Agave house! The home is beautiful with the main floor being a great room with a wonderful kitchen (viking range and subzero refrigerator), dining room and comfy seating area. The home is quiet and secluded. The hiking trails were difficult to follow so we just ended up walking our dog along the Great Continental Divide trail just a mile or so away, which ended up being great hikes. We'd definitely stay here again!
Was a totally enjoyable experience. Loved remote location with great hiking trails. Home had lots of openness, fresh air and sunshine. Feel rejuvenated.
Myself and three old friends have a tradition of wilderness getaways for the last ten years. We are all in our 50s and reminisce about our days as Boy Scouts. This place is the nicest we've found so far. As a piece of architecture, carved into the stone. With 360° views from 4 different patios; a fully equipped kitchen (I'm a chef and the company cook) and an amazing art collection. This was a real getaway!
