Suitability: children are welcome (though young children will need close supervision because of the rocky terrain), non-smoking only, small pets negotiable, not wheelchair accessible. The private road has a couple of steep hills that may be difficult for vehicles pulling a boat trailer. Please let us know if you will be bringing a boat as we will try to help you find space at the marina.
The day of check in 5 hours before we arrived— the host cancelled our reservation due to unable to clean the location. Traveling 4.5 hours it left us to scramble to find a place to stay. Turns out locals said her road was never inaccessible and she removed this listing. Thankfully we got fully refunded. Only honest thing from this host.
Road going to the property is rough. !
‘Walter’s Lakeside’ retreat was wonderful. Literally everything you can think of that you would need is provided. Definitely a classy approach, well-beyond what is required. Greatly appreciated! One Note: the roads are rough getting in. 4WD vehicles are best suited to traveling to the property.
Our stay was perfect! I just didn’t like the private road that lead to the house. We were in a 12 passenger van and it was a little scary at parts. Other than that, it was wonderful! A disclaimer about the rough terrain would be good to add. :)
Very nice cabin great view of lake . Would love it if it had a deep cleaning. Surface was good but floors and under everything was filthy.
I’m waiting for visit again your place
View was fabulous
The property is great to get away for some quiet. The lakefront area is amazing for just sitting (bring your own foldup chairs since it is a short walk after a steep staircase). Shade moves around from the hill to the lower area as the day progresses but there are many good places to sit and just watch the wildlife and lake activity while reading or enjoying a beverage. The road in is pretty steep and narrow in areas. Our Jeep handled it easily. Master bed is firm. Has all you need to bring in food and cook for yourself for a few days. As others have said, the property is kind of rough, but the interior is decorated nicely. Given the remote location, there are quite a few spiders and webs accumulate quickly - which is as to be expected. Could use a deep cleaning.
Overall we had a great time. The cabin outside could use some cleaning and updating. The inside was clean with just a few areas that could use a good deep clean. But the beds, kitchen, and bath area were clean and sanitary. The view is beautiful and peaceful. Just a good deep cleaning would help a whole bunch. We had a great time.
Views great, cottage could have been cleaner. Tranquil spot. Some safety concerns; deck railing, lamp with electrical short, no fire extinguisher, private road was manageable however actual drive was scary would not recommend trying it with a car. This was my first VRBO experience and I’m somewhat disappointed. It was decorated very cute, bedding was clean and cabin was well stocked. Floors have soft spots in bedrooms and bathroom.
enjoyed the stay
Overall, our stay was great. The property owner was communicative and responsive. The cabin was clean inside and had amenities (dishwasher, laundry, etc), but was a little rough around the edges in terms of the building itself. Location is great if you’re wanting to get out and away for a few days. Nice views over the lake on a clear day.
If you are looking for a secluded place to get away, this is your place! It was easy to get to, if you follow the written directions. The house itself was cute but a bit dingy. Fishing off the rocks was great, caught several fish. The patio/deck was nice to sit out on and enjoy the morning sun. The grills were not in good enough condition to use so be sure to bring food that you can cook on the stove. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would come back, if the place was fixed up a bit and had a deep cleaning.
