You'll love our recently renovated beach house on Harstine Island's southern tip. Take in stunning views of the Olympic Mountains, Squaxin Island and Peale Passage from the huge deck and the rock, gravel and sand beach. Wander and explore the expansive tidelands. Comb the endless beach for sand dollars, sea shells, driftwood and other treasures while enjoying the solitude of one of Puget Sound's undiscovered gems. Bring your boat or use one of ours. Swim, fish and crab in the clean waters ofPuget Sound.

Most of the beaches on Harstine Island are privately owned, including all of the beaches you can access by walking from the house. All of the owners allow people to walk along their beaches, but gathering shellfish (clams, oysters and geoduck) by our guests is prohibited on these private beaches. Property owners are very concerned about people taking shellfish from their beaches, so I ask that you please respect their property.

The beach in front of my property has been over-harvested of its shellfish, so to allow nature to recover we are asking guests to only gather shellfish on the public beaches on the island. There is more information below on the public beaches and in the guidebooks at the house.

My bulkhead, made of large concrete blocks, is 100 feet long, and covers the width of my property. My beach goes all the way out to the lowest low tide point. You are free to walk on any part of my beach and neighboring beaches, north or south, but please DO NOT gather shellfish from the beach directly in front of the house or from neighboring beaches.

If you are planning to gather shellfish, you can drive to several public beaches on the island. One is Harstine Island State Park, which requires a short hike to the beach (DNR-24 beach) and is open to the public for clams and oysters all year. You can walk south on this beach for about a mile and you'll reach McMicken Island State Park, where there is also great shell fishing. Plan to be there at low tide for the best shell fishing. Here is the web address for more information about these beaches:
http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/shellfish/beaches/280820/

The gravel driveway leading to the house is steep in places and can be a challenge for some vehicles. If you own an all-wheel-drive or 4-wheel-drive vehicle, drive that if possible. On the way down the driveway be sure to turn right at the white arrow and park where the driveway becomes level. On the way up the driveway use your vehicle’s lowest gear (or 4WD). Stay to the right for better traction. Maintain a constant speed and avoid stopping and starting. Do not spin your tires. If you lose traction, back down and start again.

Our favorite place to stay in the world. Comfy, cozy, and an amazing setting. We saw sea lions, eagles, and otters from the porch.

The property was beautiful and peaceful it fit our needs perfectly. The only problem we had was the odor of the appliances. The heating element was either not working or disabled in the dishwasher leaving a horrible smell. The clothes washer as well. The ice also had a smell affecting the taste. This issue will keep us from renting here again.

Another great stay at a beautiful property. It is perfect accommodation for all of our family members aged 8-65 and especially the dog! No one gets board, enough room for everyone to have their own space and it has conveniences of home for all to enjoy inside and outside. Looking forward to coming back next year.

We loved this get away soooo much! We will definitely return and recommend to all of our friends and family. All of the features from Sauna, grill, fire pit, kayaks and beach access were in great condition and easy to use. The host provided so many amenities like rubber boots, binoculars, games, movies, and even stuff for making s'mores. The only reason I gave cleanliness a 4 is because there were many dirty items in the kitchen cupboards and drawers that I assume were left by previous guests. Otherwise it was perfect!

We stayed to celebrate my mom's birthday, and are SO glad we chose this property! The details are so thoughtful, and every need was taken care of. Just like our own home but in a stunning location. We loved kayaking, the sauna, everything! We will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property. The beautiful views were stunning and made for a perfect, serene getaway. The home was incredibly comfortable and exceptionally clean, which made us feel right at home the moment we arrived. The location was peaceful and private, ideal for relaxation. Being only steps from the beach and my parents' home made it all the more special. It was also perfect for our dog—she absolutely loved exploring the woodsy property and having beach fun.We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a tranquil escape on Harstine Island. Thank you for a perfect stay!

I can not say enough about our stay! It was amazing. The location was secluded and allowed our family to enjoy a piece of nature. The kitchen was the best stocked i have seen. The whole house was clean and just as advertised.

Great stay, we liked the new remodel on the cabin. Some replacement action needed; replace the BBQ, it does not heat up proper. The Sauna does not work proper. Overall it was a great place to stay.

The house was plenty big for 3 adults, a child and two dogs. Loved that it had AC too and the beach steps away from the house. No mosquitoes too, which was a plus! Beach is rocky w/ seaweed and be careful playing ball with dogs on the beach as broken seashells can cut up paws/bare feet. You have to walk down cement steps to house and dirt/wood steps to beach so it may be a challenge for elderly or anyone with mobility issues. Everything was great though. I wish there was a cafe, souvenir shop, or small grocery store on the island, but nothing. Closest restaurant is in Shelton 20 minutes away and they refused to do to go orders as they were down a cook. We went to Safeway 35 minutes away and got food to cook on BBQ. Overall excellent place and well-maintained.
