Nestled deep in a serene valley, this gorgeous 1,200 SF Guest Casita offers a peaceful retreat amidst the woods. With abundant natural light and open spaces, the casita provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Property Highlights:

Expansive 5-acre grounds offer sweeping views, hiking trails, and a thoughtfully curated blend of natural beauty and sculptural art. With far more space and privacy than a typical neighborhood setting, guests can enjoy a peaceful retreat immersed in nature. A second detached living quarter on the property may also be rented during your stay. While each space is fully separate and secluded, guests may occasionally share the pool and outdoor common areas.

Outdoor Amenities: Relax at the large built-in picnic table below the porch or explore the open-air plaza nearby. Wander along hiking pathways leading to three serene ponds or the spectacular 90,000-gallon pool featuring a grotto and waterfall.
Austin Hill Country Charm: Experience the tranquility of the Austin Hill Country while being just minutes from downtown Austin.
Important Details:

Natural Terrain: The property features gravel roads, walkways, and uneven stone stairs. Sensible shoes or tennis shoes are recommended for navigating the rough terrain.
Nature and Wildlife: Immerse yourself in nature with modern comforts. Expect to see birds, squirrels, lizards, and the occasional bug or spider.
Eco-Friendly Pool: The pool is naturally fed by rainwater and free of chemicals, with fish swimming and some silt on the bottom. A robust filtration system filters the entirety of the pool every hour, so it is safe to swim in year-round. It may appear green in spring and early summer, but it remains safe for swimming. Please note that this isn’t your typical chlorinated backyard pool, and it is more like swimming in a natural swimming hole. We absolutely love it, but want to point this out as that may not be everyone’s cup of tea!
We're delighted to host you and ensure you have a memorable stay in this unique and grand respite in the city. Welcome to your peaceful retreat!

We really enjoyed our stay here! The casita had everything we needed and the grounds were amazing. The location was also great, it was close to everything, yet felt remote. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great weekend!

The casita was great! We loved the design and the artistic elements. The grounds were quiet and beautiful. The pool is like nothing I've ever seen. What an interesting concept. The location was just right for us, a relatively short drive for groceries and restaurants while still secluded. This place is unique!

Stayed here with my husband and 2 small dogs. Such a charming property! Be sure to check the parking instructions ahead of time so you know how to access the property. Bed was super comfortable, great working AC to cool off, and very well maintained property. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Austin is a lovely city, but I found a gem within the city. This place is lovely to getway, find peace, tranquility, and breathe within a booming city.

this place is truly special and one of a kind- it’s perched in the treetops but beautiful sculptures are nestled everywhere on the property. From the outdoor shower to enjoying golden hour dining al fresco, you would never feel like you’re in Austin.Having lived in Texas and Austin for over 15 years, this place gives you the best of both worlds- 10 min from Downtown but once you’re in the hills, you’ll get to enjoy all the beautiful nature, smells and wildlife. It’s perfect for you if you’re looking for a nature retreat that will allow you to slow down and disconnect but is also close enough to creature comforts. The pool is such a treat to use and the water makes your skin feel rejuvenated. I will try to stay at this property everytime I come back to town- its magic

We were helping our daughter move from one home to another in Austin. This was the perfect place to come home to in the evenings. It is a beautiful, well-equipped place, with lovely outdoor seating areas and lighting, just what we needed after some very long days.

Clean and well appointed down to makeup towels and spices, the directions are a tad tricky and the road in is a little bumpy but it’s So worth it! Easy and private check in and reasonable check out requests. Comfy beds with good linens and plenty of pillows and towels. Do stop for grocer on your way in that first night as restraints and grocery stores are 15-20 minutes back down a dark windy road. The perfect getaway after a busy day in Austin. The pool is natural and exquisite. .

David's place made me remember how great the outdoors can be... from the comfort of a cozy patio and relaxing stay! There was plenty of room for me and my friends and we celebrated a very chill Halloween with snacks and spooky movies, all in the privacy of our little home away from home. Thanks again for opening your doors to us, David!

The house is beautiful and stocked with everything you could ask for and more. One of the few rentals I have stayed in that went above and beyond with appliances, cookware, and everything else you need, including toiletries if you happen to forget your own! The property is beyond beautiful and captures the natural side of what is definitely one of the busiest cities around. You won't have to travel far to be in the heart of the city, which makes this ideal for quiet getaways, while having access to one of my favorite cities in the country.

Absolutely amazing experience. Things to note: Grill works awesome, comes with everything needed Outdoor shower is wonderful. Gets super hot. I did not shower indoors once during my stay hahaha The king bed in the master is incredibly comfortable. Everything was clean, well prepared, detailed, absolutely phenomenal service from David. I normally don’t let lightning strike twice, always look for something new when I visit, but I definitely see myself opting to stay here again on our next Austin visit. We only wish it had a bot tub, seriously, book this place. You will not regret it. Serenity, peace, so much space to yourself. It is so shocking how close to Austin this “outdoor getaway” is. Literally 5 minutes to the bridge, I can’t remember the name, pepper something.. just a phenomenal stay. 19 stars.

We have a ranch outside of Austin so we are used to privacy, seclusion and not being bothered when we are in town so this (booking in Austin) was a first. I looked at hundreds of properties and kept finding that all of the houses were just renditions of the others---nothing really notable. Found this house and was a bit hesitant due to it being significantly affordable. Lesson learned. Gorgeous property, great location (VERY close to town) and very private. The previous reviews for this property have been from people who probably had no business staying in a place surrounded by nature. If a spider outside on a sidewalk is a deal breaker stay elsewhere. If you appreciate quiet, seclusion and a completely different vibe from your suburban life in a home that is impeccably maintained, well appointed and has green views out of every window then book here. The pool is fabulous (husband wants to replicate something similar) and very unique. An Olympic sized private mini-lake is about as good as it gets. While we stayed in the larger Casita there is one smaller one that is also on the property which is equally as awesome as this one (pictures do not begin to give thus place justice). Liking privacy, was worried about this until we saw that both are not visible to the other and both are secluded enough as to not know if anyone is there or not. Overall, cannot underscore how happy we were to have found this place. Hoping to book again in the fall. Thank you David!

Beautiful, remote location in Westlake Hills. Enjoyed the artwork and sculptures throughout the property. Enjoyed all the manicured trails weaving throughout the property. Really enjoyed the quiet offered by this location.

We came for a girls trip, with the intention of relaxing, hiking and swimming. The home was nice and clean. However the property has overgrown trees/ bushes etc and lots of spiders. Were bitten all over our legs and we didn’t feel comfortable hiking. The pool has not been maintained and we did not feel comfortable swimming in it. Overgrowth, moss, bugs etc plus someone else’s old pool toys. Not the ideal place to book if you are looking for a pool to swim in.
