Sebago Lake-Casco, Maine

I’ll start off by saying the location of the property was great and the views from the house were spectacular. We really enjoyed the outdoor space, swimming and floating dock. Unfortunately, the house itself is older and was not properly cleaned before our stay. I vacuumed thoroughly after I arrived as my allergies were really acting up and found lots of dirt and pet hair under couch and furniture and even an old dirty sock. The bathroom downstairs is very musty and had a mildew smell. The outdoor trash cans were full when we arrived and the trash cans were covered in maggots by the time the trash came the following weekend. The property itself has lots of stairs so it is not great for small children or people with mobility issues. The stairs leading from the parking area down to the house were treacherous and the railing is broken. The stairs going to the second and third floors are very steep and narrow. Down by the water, there was no beach (as shown in the picture) due to the water level and the two granite bottom stairs going into the water were very slippery as they were covered in algae. The kitchen was very small (can only fit one person at a time) and not great for cooking. We only had four people staying at the house so sharing one full bathroom was not an issue for us. The third floor is basically a finished attic so I was thankful we didn’t need to use that area. Also, just a note, the property listing indicates there is a dishwasher but there is not.

We had a delightful stay at this lake house. The location is perfect, water access is great and we got good use out of the kayaks. There are some lovely rooms and areas inside the house but take note of steep steps to the upstairs and a/c is adequate upstairs but not as strong. We had 8 people (the max) for our vacation and think it would have been better for us to have 5-6 given the 1 full bath. The manager, Carrie, was very responsive to anything we needed. We would definitely rent there again

My family arrived at the Lake House and was pleasantly surprised by its amenities, and nicely chosen new furnishings you can tell was recently updated, different from the pictures featured on home away. The owners left a hard covered book that gave you all the instructions needed for your stay, and lots of activities listed, which I thought was very cleverly made, however some things listed in the book we didn't have access as listed. The lake was a few feet out the door, and the peace and tranquility that came with the view was just what we needed. The property manager was right at your fingertips. Carrie was pleasant and prompt in returning your calls to answer any questions that we had. The kitchen is small, but also newly updated and fully equipped which worked great for us. There was plenty of space for the 6 of us. I would definitely be back next year!!
