Stayed Aug 5, 2022We had a wonderful trip. The location of this property is phenomenal. We were able to walk to the beach and into town. The house was clean and accommodating. We were able to bring our dogs who had a great time!! We will be back. :)

Stayed Dec 31, 1969House was nice and was as advertised. Close to town and small beach at Oyster Pond. I wish one of the bedroom had a king size bed. Unfortunately we left 4 days early due to the tornado and lack of power.

Stayed Aug 11, 2018We had a great week and this charming Cape style home. The house was very clean and up to date. We were surprised that there was Central A/C as the original description revealed units in the bedrooms, so that was a very nice upgrade, especially given the humid week we had. The house was very spacious and open for the family. We also loved the deeded access to Oyster Pond down the road and brought our inflatable paddle boards there a few times. The bike-ride distance to the center of town was perfect for the whole family. Overall a great stay!

Stayed Jul 22, 2017We liked the location. Our kids kept a small skiff at anchor in oyster pond at the end of the street which they thoroughly enjoyed. As an aside, and not meant as a criticism of the house, beware the new Chatham Water Use Fee where you have to buy an expensive permit from the town to put anything that floats into the waters of Chatham for even 1 second. You are forced to buy a 1 year permit, even if you are there for a day. We had our other boat on a paid mooring at Outermost Harbor and got tagged by the harbormaster for not having our Water Use Permit. I have been summering in Chatham for 50 years so I have seen the steady progression of fees/rules/laws that the town has enacted over the years making it a less and less friendly place to vacation, at least if you are a boater. The days of leaving your boat at anchor in Pleasant Bay are long gone. If their goal is to reduce the congestion caused by the tourists by discouraging them from coming, then in our case they are succeeding. But back to the house. On the plus side it has a nice location, we liked the outside porch, and it was neat and clean. On the minus side the mattresses were bad. We discovered on day 3 that one of the mattresses was single sided and had been flipped. That begs the question of why it was flipped, but ignoring that when we put it soft side up it was acceptable. Another mattress was so bad we put a blow up mattress on top of it. Another mattress had a big yellow stain in the middle. The kids were fighting over the pullout couch because of its memory foam top if that gives you any indication of how good the regular mattresses were. As a general message to all property managers and property owners, your renters are going to spend 1/3 of their time on the Cape on the mattresses in your houses; you should make sure those 8 hours per day leave a positive impression. Another minus is the hot water was tepid at best. I found the temperature adjustment in the basement but it was already maxed out on hot. My brother who is a contractor came by and figured out how to bypass the stop on the mixing valve and on day 4 we finally got acceptably hot water. Many light bulbs were burnt out, I personally went to the Chatham Hardware store to buy appliance lights so we could see what we were cooking on the stove. As a minimum the mattresses should be clean and comfortable, the hot water should be 120 F, and the lights should work.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I frequent Chatham and have an annual tradition of staying there during the summertime. This was the first time we stayed at 14 Capri Lane, and we were not disappointed. Close proximity to town, right on the wonderful Oyster Pond, the location could not be be beat. Then, the house itself was just the perfect layout for our family of 6, with enough living and kitchen space to host us all as well as our extended family that visited from a nearby house rental. The bedrooms were laid out well, if not the walls a little thin, and the bathroom situation was perfect for us to split up. While we didn't use the finished basement all that much - with it's full size flat-screen TV, DVD player, board games and ping pong table, it was nice knowing it was there in case we needed it due to a rainy day. This was really a perfect base for us and we would absolutely rent it again. I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The location of this home sold us initially, as it is a very short walk to Oyster Pond and walkable to town. The home was spacious enough for our family of 5, and we enjoyed the openness of the kitchen and living area so that we could watch the kids while making meals. Unfortunately there were some problems in the home during our vacation. There was a spider problem inside the home, and we had to have the exterminator come out on two occasions and wait for him on our own time. There was a plumbing issue with the basement toilet, and we had to wait a third time for someone to come to the home to fix that. The management company was quick to respond and got people out there to address the problems. The trees and plants were quite overgrown, and gave the feel that the property was neglected. Perhaps this contributed to the spider issue. The home has the potential to be quaint and cozy with some updates and a paint job. There are no modern renovations, which is okay since it is a vacation home, but the mold spots on the bathroom ceilings, chipping paint and random stains on ceilings and walls were unsettling in a setting where we just wanted to relax. It is disappointing that were not given just compensation for taking time out of our vacation to tend to someone else’s home, or for the other inconveniences we experienced.
