Stayed Jun 1, 2022The house was nice, our stay was very comfortable and enjoyable, and our cat loved exploring the beautiful, lush backyard. When I say didn't read the fine print, I mean there were a few items we'd like to have known about before arriving, and if they are mentioned in the description we simply missed them, so read carefully. They were not deal-breakers at all, but we would have planned a bit better. As minor as they may seem, those things are: some parts of the house are locked off so the house is not as large as it seems when you look at it; there is no garbage disposal (never realized how dependent we've come to be on this little thing); and maybe the biggest of these small things, no access to bikes or a beach wagon or most anything for the beach other than a few chairs in the laundry room. There is a storage area on the back of the house that appears to have some things in it, but it, too, is locked off, so we ended up having to buy stuff that we erroneously believed would be provided to us to use. But as I said, these would not have been deal-breakers for us, we'd have just planned and packed a bit differently, and overall the house is very nice and we really enjoyed our stay there...thanks!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969811 E. 18th Ave Feedback First, we want to thank you for allowing us to rent your home this winter. We had a wonderful visit to NSB as usual during our 5th winter. It is a great location to visit and we were sad when we had to return north. Our favorite features of your home are the large screened in rear porch and the beautiful backyard. We have enjoyed many hours relaxing on the porch, on the glider and in the backyard. You should definitely highlight these features when promoting your home as a rental property. To maintain your wonderful porch, you should consider replacing the lower screening at both ends of the porch to keep the lizards and bugs out. As with all properties there are enhancements that would make your property even better for you and your future renters. Following are a few of our ideas and thoughts for improvements. When we had rentals in our younger day, we always appreciated feedback and ideas from our renters. Hope these thoughts and ideas will help you. 1. The TV setup using over the air TV plus Roku is not a user-friendly solution for renters, especially us older folks. The over the air is not always reliable based on weather conditions and other factors. Your existing over the air does not include NBC, a major network. FOX, another major network has marginal over the air reception at times. Even the CBS and ABC stations occasionally had reception problems. Roku TV is a pain to use for many of us. There is no menu for over-the-air so we had to continually scroll thru channels to see what was on TV. The Netflix station is nice if renters like lots of movies. Honestly, we would not have rented your home had we realized it did not have cable TV. You may want to discuss TV options with your rental agent to compare against similar rentals? 2. Your Kitchen has limited pantry storage space. Renters staying for 1-3 months need more space for pantry storage. We think you have two good options to improve your pantry storage. One would be to add additional storage cabinets/ shelving wall units in the washer/ dryer room. There is room on the walls to the left of the outside door and also to the right side of outdoor door for additional storage. The other option would be to add a pantry cabinet in the dining area above your microwave. 3. Your master bedroom Bath is small, so maximizing usable space is important to renters. Our major concern is the bathroom door. It opens in rather than out. The bottom of the door is not cut high enough to pass over bathroom mats/carpets in bathroom. Also, when the door is open all the way it blocks access to the toilet paper holder on wall and the only electrical outlet. The door cannot be opened/ closed while someone is in the sink/ toilet area. We think your best way to improve door concerns and maximize bathroom space is to reverse the bathroom door so it opens out against the outside wall of bedroom. Our Second bathroom concern was limited space to store personal bath items in the bathroom for renters. We feel your best option to provide more space for personal bath items would be to add an additional small cabinet or shelving unit on the wall above the toilet. 4. Our last suggestion would be more costly to implement but should be considered at some time in the future. The single width driveway is really a pain when renters have 2 vehicles. Frequent shifting/ swapping of cars gets annoying. Consideration should be given to widening a portion of the driveway so vehicles do not have to be swapped to get out. Most properties on your street have already addressed this issue in some manner. Again, thanks for letting us rent your home.
