We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quirky getaway! Full of charm and character. Much more fun than a bland hotel room! Every room was a feast for the eyes! Very clean, beds extremely comfortable, rooms nice and dark, and the area lovely and quiet… with lots to see & do. There were thoughtful touches throughout. Our host, Monica, was warm and friendly and she couldn’t have been more helpful. We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you for everything Monica!

Unique decor, had a very happy vibe. Had everything you needed in a comfortable relaxing accomodation. So close to beach and dining options. Owner was very welcoming, communication great. Would definitely recommend.

Loved how everywhere I looked I saw something new full of art

The property was exactly as described: retro, eclectic, dog-friendly (for our three small dogs), clean and very comfortable. The location was fantastic - we loved the very easy walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. Monica was very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Her attention to detail in terms of the garden and decor created a warm, welcoming environment. We would stay here again.

This Getaway is idyllic, in a quiet side street, hidden from the main traffic, secluded and peaceful yet only 10 minutes' walk from the activity hub of Semaphore.We love the ambience where we can relax and be ourselves. Kitchen had all we needed. Bed was wonderfully comfortable. Water was hot for our showers. Loved our visit.

Was a lovely place, right near the beach!

Monica was a wonderful host; very kind & thoughtful. When she found out it was our daughter's birthday, she went out of her way to make it really special. The backyard was magical...you have to see it to understand why! The weekend we stayed was very hot, so it was a real bonus being able to cool off in the pool.

Easy going and allowed us to enter early. Lovely place just as describe... love that era.

Retro Getaway was fine but basic, somewhat grubby and poorly maintained. Host Monica was friendly. A tenant lived in part of the complex. He occupied the only working seating in the outside area for our entire 3 day stay. He was unfriendly, and acted like he was entitled, We left early because we felt very uncomfortable. OK to stay but don't expect to be able to use the advertised outside area.

a most wondrous experience of vintage charm! Monica’s apartment is peppered with drop dead gorgeous time pieces from the 50ies to the 70ies that altogether make this place a real gem. If you like colour, charm, charisma and a hint of kitsch, if you love eclectic furniture and value comfort, cosiness and a superb beachside location, Monica’s place is for you. If you prefer sleek minimalist white new apartment uniformity, not so much. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, cooked up a storm in the kitchen, had many a vinos by the pool, borrowed a bicycle and even received fresh flowers and lemons off the tree. Loved every minute. Thank you Monica - a place to make memories. Can’t wait to come back.

Just 2 streets from the beach, quiet street, peaceful atmosphere. Walking distance to food & other shops. Just PERFECT for our Easter break. Highly recommend our hostess who made sure nothing was amiss... including the bath lotion! We'll be back!
