Santorini Finikia Oia Cave House

The place is really beautiful with everything we needed for a few days George the host was really welcoming and nice. He had a taxi booked for us from the airport. All good

We had a lovely week in George's Cave house. George was an excellent host.Finikia is a charming little village of cave houses and some more modern houses, clinging to the valley sides, within easy walking distance of Oia.The house is stylish with all the basic essentials. George kindly provided more than enough bottles of water for the week, bread, jam butter, fruit juice, coffee pods and milk.Everything is spotlessly clean.We found the bed and pillows quite hard, but we do prefer a softer bed. The bed is a thin mattress on a stone plinth, it is very low.The plunge pool, sunbeds and view are on a platform above the door, which involves climbing quite a steep set of stairs. The neighbours hot tub is within touching distance, so peace and quiet is dependent upon how noisy your neighbours are!?!

We absolutely LOVED our stay here, and George was the best host! He helped arrange our taxi's to and from the airport, as well as meeting us at the taxi drop off and walked our luggage to the house. Everything was wonderful, very spacious, clean, and well decorated. The coffee machine and little breakfast provided was a great plus! (as well as the washing machine, as we were at the end of our 5 week holiday and desperately needed to wash some clothes!) And having our own private pool to escape the crowds and heat made this place perfect. We were located in a nice quiet area of Finika, with several restaurants and a mini mart nearby, and it was just a short, straightforward walk into the heart of Oia (10-15 minutes). Honestly, could not fault it! A must-stay :)

Although the amenities in the cave house were not what you would see in an upper end hotel (air conditioning, maid service, etc...) and are not meant to be, the location and the manager (George) were excellent. George scheduled several excursions and was always there to help us whenever we had issues. We had stayed in a very nice hotel in the touristy area of Firo prior to going to the cave house so it was very refreshing to experience the relaxing, laid back area. The restaurants near by were excellent, reasonably priced and easily accessible. Also the mini market close by had everything you could possibly need! We'll stay there again if we return.

We really loved our stay at the Finikia Cave House. It was located a little off the beaten path but in the best possible way. Quiet, but convenient to all the hustle in Oia. George was the perfect host: responsive, helpful and easily available for any needs. The house was just as pictured, but better. The best restaurants we enjoyed during our entire stay (Lefkes and Meze Meze) were literally steps away from the house. It was everything I had hoped for. The view is beautiful, although not the typical Oia view of the caldera. If you want to enjoy Santorini and Oia but don’t want to be in the crowd this is a perfect spot for you.

This property is in a small village right outside of Oia. We loved that it is nestled in village life, with a good mix of tourists and locals and a much slower pace than in Oia or Fira. George was a great host and helpful with our needs. Would highly recommend. Do note there is no aircon at this property, but we were still comfortable.
