Tumacacori, Arizona
The large one bedroom Casita is located on Santa Gertrudis Lane in Tumacacori. The location is absolutely perfect for those who enjoy nature, hiking, birdwatching, gallery hopping, horseback riding and experiencing the historic West. This area of Southern Arizona is just teeming with history. Our property was the location of a stage coach stop between Nogales and Tucson.
The Tumacacori Mission borders two sides of our 8 acre property giving our visitors a peaceful retreat and opportunities to easily explore the mission, the De Anza Trail Santa Cruz River and Tubac. Tubac is a pleasant 4 mile hike or bike ride away. Tubac is known as the place where 'Art and History Meet' There you will be able to visit over 100 galleries, restaurants and stores. Tubac also has a state park and museum where you can explore more of the history of our area.
The Casita has a full kitchen, bath, living room and bedroom. There is an unheated pool on the property which is perfect for cooling off and rejuvenating after a day of exploring.
Pets are welcome. We also have facilities for boarding horses.
All of our Casita's have been recently renovated. We offer our guests accommodations that not only fills their need for a place to stay but also is a soothing experience where they can renew their spirit.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of this casita on an 8-acre property just minutes south of Tubac. We look forward to returning.
The casita (Queen 1b) was nicely decorated and cozy. We came for peace and quiet on New Years weekend and we’re not disappointed. There are 2 things that could help boost rating. Two large resident dogs roam around and poop everywhere and it was difficult to walk anywhere on the property without the risk of stepping in it. I’m a dog lover, we brought our 2 dogs but we always bag and dispose of their waste, which as a veterinarian I can state, does transmit disease. The interior of our casita was very nice, but the outside of the property as a whole could use a whole lotta love. We did enjoy our stay overall, especially the proximity to the Anza Trail. We learned from reading about the mission that the water in the nearby Santa Cruz River bed is mostly treated effluent and it’s advised to stay out of it. (After we unknowingly let our dogs walk in it and drink from it ) would’ve been nice to get a heads up from the property manager about that.
Southern Arizona hospitality at it's best.
Super cute casita hid among beautiful trees next to a historic national trail. If you adore nature, but also like the benefits of modern sleeping and cooking arrangements this is the place for you. They even have a great pool area! Some great added benefits for me was a delightful little bathroom with hot water and combo shower/tub, full kitchen and local tv, and I could bring my beloved little pets. The hosts had the Casita frig stocked with fresh farm eggs, butter, half and half, plus they gave me coffee to make in the morning. The check in process was easy and they had a list prepared of local markets and restaurants available within a short driving distance. This location is very quiet which was just what I wanted. I forgot only one thing which was to tell the host I placed some of their small glass bud vases in the dish cabinet up high so that my smaller pets would not break them. A final added benefit was there was some bug spray under the kitchen cabinet because being in nature the little bugs try to invade your space at night.
There's nothing fancy about the casitas, but the setting and environment are fantastic. If you're looking for luxury, look elsewhere. If you want a laid back, friendly atmosphere, this is the place for you. If you have any questions or need assistance with anything, the owners are here to accommodate you. I like it so much that I've already reserved for 2023.
Love the location and the open farm feeling of this place. It was just a jaunt down the road from Tubac so we did not have to be in the middle of everything. Loved that it was on the Anza Trail. Great place for walking dogs. Doesn't have an enclosed area for dogs but dogs are allowed. Really appreciated the owners giving us fresh eggs fruit etc the day we arrived. It was a real treat.
Great location. Never did get check in info or a key. Would stay again.
We had a wonderful stay here. Highly recommended.
We really liked the atmosphere, quiet shaded and beautiful. My wife loved Aqua sizing every morning and taking walks while looking for birds in the tree canopies. We were startled the last night with a knock on the door of the apartment next to us at 1:00am thinking it was our door, waking us up. Other than that it was a wonderful stay, that aside we will definitely be back! Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of paradise with us.
Very laidback and great to getaway but be close to everything you need. Great owners! My wife and two kids, plus our dog, felt like we were at home on a family ranch. All the animals are great for the kids too.
