Sandpiper Cottage - near beach, dog friendly, cozy place to relax!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at the Sandpiper Cottage in March 2023. The house is very nicely decorated and we were able to have space to roam on the back porch while also cooking a nice family meal on the grill, and eating in the dining room. It felt like a second home, and was just as shown in pictures. Very cute older home character and style. Great hosts and communication. Will stay again!

This property is comfortable and clean and well located to many activities, restaurants, etc. in Gulfport. The host, Andy, is responsive and great to work with.

We absolutely enjoyed staying at this home. It really felt like we were at home. The beds were comfortable plenty of dishes in the kitchen. It was nice and clean. Smelled good. Loved the backyard with the fire pit. It had corn hole boards, a ping-pong table in one of the bedrooms, which the kids loved. A nice back porch, where I loved sitting drink my coffee and just listen to the birds. I would most definitely stay here again if the house is available next time I come down.

We enjoyed our stay at Sandpiper Cottage immensely! The property was clean and perfect for our group. The kids room with ping pong table was a huge hit. The neighborhood was peaceful and there is a small playground just up the road. Andy and Rebecca were perfect hosts and we would absolutely stay here again. Thank you!

The stay was awesome! The house was more spacious than it seemed on the pictures and very comfortable. I had a question at 9 o’clock at night and the owner responded within minutes! Beautiful property inside and out! The backyard is very spacious and functional.

The property was perfect for our needs. Everyone slept comfortably on the foam mattresses. The location was close to everything we wanted to do, including the beach, Biloxi, and New Orleans. Our hosts were extremely responsive and easy to deal with. It would have been nice to have usable drawers in the bedroom with the laundry machine or at least a much larger number of hangers.

The host was very accommodating and had great communication the entire trip! Very pleased with the house and our stay here.

Clean house. Andy was very good at communication. Several small touches in the house that were helpful (e.g., high chair for toddler, ping pong table for kids, coffee-maker, etc.).

The house was nice and clean with comfortable bedrooms, it had some areas in need of repair but it is to be expected with an older home. The charm and character was very nice and the outdoor area was well equipped.

THE GOOD: KITCHEN - Has adequate cooking utensils, drink ware, plates.PORCH - Back porch was a good addition, but it wouldn't hurt to leaf blow a property prior to someone arriving. LOCATION - The location was blocks from the beach.LIVING ROOM - had adequate seating and a TV for those who need to watch the tube.______________________________________________THE BAD: Pictures always lie. We arrived at the location to find a charming, old, bungalow. With a bungalow comes many issues if not remedied. OVERALL CONDITION - Unlevel floors, peeling floor tiles, holes in the wall, and malfunctioning ceiling fans.BEDROOMS - Speaking of holes in the wall, we found a literal bandaid patched over one of the holes in a bedroom - well, it was hanging from the hole (see pic). Honestly disgusting. Old hangers, garbage lying on the closet floors, closet door did not close well either. The mattresses and pillows, in both bedrooms, were awful.BATHROOM - Old bathroom, typical lack of upkeep, no bath soap, shampoo in the bathroom. KITCHEN - There was no water in the fridge - as listed.VRBO - We rented from VRBO this time expecting more quality rentals than those we have found on that other company's website. However, VRBO did not meet our expectations either due to this experience.If you prefer uncomfortable beds, literal bandaids as patchwork on holes in walls, non-functioning ceiling fans, no soap/shampoo, then this place is for you.Otherwise, keep searching.

We stayed for a night while in town for a wedding. It was everything we needed for a good nights rest. Clean with comfy beds and a ping pong table for the kiddos before bed. Thankful for the coffee and coffee maker:)

Great spot to stay the night on our way to Destin!

This house was perfect for our family of 5. It was located in a quiet neighborhood and was a short walk to the beach as advertised. There was a short drive to many different attractions. The outdoor porch was perfect for sitting in the morning and evening and had plenty of space for the corn hole game provided. My kids loved the ping pong table and the dining room table was perfect for card games. We used the kitchen everyday and there were plenty of items provided for basic cooking. The hosts were very responsive to our questions as we adjusted to the house on the first days. I would highly recommend this property and the hosts!

Sandpiper Cottage was an excellent place to stay! It was a cute and comfortable house to stay in! We loved the styling and the feel of the house. It was super close to the beach which my family absolutely enjoyed! My boys loved the pingpong table and played many games. We definitely recommend staying here if you visit Gulfport, Mississippi!

Me and my sister came down for a girls weekend with no kids and stayed at the Sandpiper. We loved it! The house was so cute and charming and in a really quiet neighborhood. The location couldn’t have been better. Super easy check in and out process also. The hosts were very informative. We would definitely book again.

It has a lot of charm. Love the style and extra space a house give vs. a hotel room. Just what we needed close to the beach, so would highly suggest it. Thank you!

Everything was very clean. Enjoyed the pickleball courts and ping pong table. Only draw back was the trains going by. Check in and out was simple. The house had a very homey feel to it.

Nice looking and unique exterior from the street. Well maintained. Inside has new appliances, very comfortable beds, warm water and good shower. Great towels. The interior was very clean. It’s obvious the owner is actively involved in keeping this property up. The bones of this house are rather old. Floors in places are uneven if you have any ambulation problems. The back porch and yard are very nice as well but needed a good Spring cleaning. Fire pit and outside lighting was very nice. Back yard needs raked and some old items near the shed could be down away with particularly if you have younger children. Great communication with the owner who is receptive and takes pride in the property. Quiet fairly well kept neighborhood, close to the beach and the Naval base, as well as restaurants and coffee shops. All at a reasonable price. We really enjoyed our stay.

This property provided the perfect weekend getaway for me and my family. It was clean and all of the details were well thought out. The bunk room was a perfect place for the kiddos. Overall, it was the perfect stay!

The property was fine for my mom’s and my stay. It was a basic house. Unfortunately, it was too cold for us to enjoy the outside and deck.

Stayed for a cheer competition. House located 14 minutes to the Gulf Coast Convention center. The place catered to my 4year old and my 12 year old, with activities to keep them busy. The 3 bedroom was enough space for our family of four. We had done minor issues but Andy responded quickly and took care of it. We would stay here again!

The apartment unit was renovated very nicely and everything was very clean. Would stay again!

Although our time spent here was short (only stayed one night and checked in around 7:30), we were very impressed with how cozy and welcoming this home was. My two boys especially loved “The Bunk Room.” The beds were very comfortable and the home had everything we needed. I wish we could have stayed longer and explored the area a little more.

We had a one night stopover in Gulfport on our way to our Thanksgiving cruise. The communication with Andy was awesome. He was very responsive to every message I sent. The only issue we had was the coffee maker not working in the morning, but the coffee shop about a mile away was top tier. Thanks again for hosting us.

We rented this cottage for the Taylor Swift ERAS Tour. Perfect location to enjoy a couple of days at the beach and having fun in New Orleans without too bad of a drive. The house was so sweet. I loved the decor and the location. The house is decorated so nicely. Perfect for a short getaway. I was very pleased. I would love to come back. The host was very good with communication. Highly recommended!

My sister and I were in Gulfport for a family reunion. Sandpiper cottage had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay and was conveniently located for all our activities. Andy is a responsive host.

Amazing cottage just a few blocks from the Gulf coast. We had everything we needed. Home feels much larger than it is due to a really cool layout. Lots of space to hangout and bedrooms are private with extra comfy beds. We will definitely stay again.

Everything was as perfect as it could have been at this place. Looked just like it did in the photos, right by the beach, was spotless throughout, water/popsicles/snacks/coffee/spices in the kitchen, Jenga and Uno in the rec room. We had everything we needed and more. Hosts are extremely responsive to messages through the app, and even came by personally to resolve an issue straight away - all without disrupting our stay at all! They were even considerate enough to leave a note on the fridge with local hot spots and important phone numbers. Only complaints would be how few and poorly positioned the outlets are in the bedrooms, as well as how uneven the floors are and how slippery the ruge are on them. All very, very minor things. Definitely stay here if you're in the area!
