Stayed Sep 21, 2025Samkara is a magnificent property with incredible view of the Byron Bay lighthouse. The house is extremely spacious with large bedrooms with ensuites. The kitchen is very functional and a dining room table large enough that the entire family could eat together. Lots of outdoor seating on both upper and lower balconies. Great for early morning coffee. Pool area was large with lots of lounges but I was expecting the pool to be gas heated. It was too cool to swim and play in. Luckily there was a hot tub. Overall an incredible place for a family holiday.

Stayed Apr 17, 2025This is our third time staying at the Byron Bay Manor. It's in a beautiful location on the escarpment overlooking Byron and a short drive into town. Not that you need to leave the manor - the swimming pool is super refreshing and there are tons to private spaces to relax as well as communal areas for meals/ hanging out. Highly recommend!

Stayed Jan 24, 2025This home was perfect for our group of 17 - huge living, dining and outdoor spaces, every bedroom was extra large and had its own ensuite, had incredible views and was only 10 minutes to Byron and Bangalow.

Stayed Dec 21, 2024This property could be incredible and somewhere we would return to with some improvements. Communication from the caretaker was excellent and he was very responsive and helpful when we did have an issue with one air-con unit not working. He happily allowed us early entry which was very helpful. The space was great, lots of room if we all wanted to hang out together and ample space to find a quiet corner and read a book. However, some very basic but important things are lacking - the fly screens are ripped or have holes in them, which means it’s mosquito central! The kitchen is actually in desperate need of a revamp, it is not user friendly and is in desperate need of an update. There is mismatched crockery - many are chipped. Can opener had to be thrown away, we went and bought a new one. Knives were blunt, we bought a knife sharpener for our stay. Stove top would stop working or not produce heat, we can’t even understand how this happens. There is so much vegetation close to the house we were constantly inundated with ants. And unfortunately, it wasn’t very clean, we washed everything, including the bbq before we used it. There are lots of glasses and crockery and cutlery but it needs a clean out and an update. Some of the guests had issues with the hot water in the shower cutting out. There are some really simple upgrades which would make this rental worth the price we paid, but in its current state we feel we didn’t get what we paid for.

Stayed Nov 18, 2024This property was perfect for our group of friends who just finished university and wanted to celebrate and hang out before we all got new jobs and had to move away from each other. The hosts had amazing communications and were extremely welcoming and friendly. The place was perfect for a large group, with many rooms and a bathroom in each room. It had large communal areas for everyone to come together and hang out, but enough bedrooms to have some privacy. The rooms were very spacious and all of them had aircon and TVs. The property itself was amazing, with plenty of land to play cricket or throw the ball and a pool that fit everyone. The house had everything you would need, from a pool table to sports equipment to cooking utensils. It unfortunately rained the whole time we were there, but it didnt affect our holiday at all, the spa was perfect, and the loungeroom was big enough for us all to watch movies. The house was so large that we never felt crowded. Overall, 10/10 stay in every way.

Stayed Oct 4, 2024My family and I had a great time at Byron Bay Manor. Large house with lots of living space and big kitchen. Loved that each room had a private ensuite. Only problems were that the hot water system for the showers and taps was very unreliable, and we thought that the outdoor spa was heated (as written in the listing) but it wasn’t. Unfortunately the host was unresponsive when we reached out about this…

Stayed Dec 22, 2023We stayed with 9 adults and 7 children over Christmas 2023 and absolutely loved our stay. Justin and his house manager were very responsive hosts both prior to our stay (promptly answering any questions we had about the accomodation) and during our stay. They even went to the trouble to put up a Christmas tree for us to enjoy given our stay included Christmas Day. Despite being a large group, we didn’t feel we were on top of each other and the indoor/outdoor space was generous and offered a variety of areas to enjoy mealtimes and space to run/play for the kids. All bedrooms were equally comfortable and the house was clean. The house was also a short drive into Bangalow… we ducked in a few times to access the supermarkets, Pilates studio and for coffee (although the house does have a great coffee machine). The pool and pool toys available were put to good use and we loved the view from the pool area and upper levels as well as enjoyed the beautiful landscaping around the house. Hope to back one day. Thanks Justin!
