Sam Houston's Retreat | Walking distance to Festivals | Close to Main Street

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The house is much larger than it appears in the photos, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The only drawback was some traffic noise in the morning. That said, the property offers covered parking and is within easy walking distance of Main Street, which was very convenient. We would definitely stay here again.

Proper cozy, well-appointed guesthouse near Main St. Some road noise but didn’t disturb us.

The layout was great for my family, and the proximity to downtown was incredible. As other people have mentioned, one of the bedrooms is right off a main street so it can get loud, but they did provide a white noise machine to help block it out while sleeping. I will say that the wifi was not great and connection was spotty.

This is the third time we have stayed here and we love it! The house has everything we need. It is close enough to Main Street that you can walk there in a few minutes. We have already booked it for Spring. See you then. Fred and Teresa (And Martina - Service Dog)

We were given the wrong code and waited an hour before we could get in. There are 2 bathrooms, but one is at the other end of the house and is about the size of a postage stamp. Very inconvenient since there were four of us staying there. It definitely could have been cleaner. The Keurig didn't work, so our husbands had to go across the street to buy some. I will say when we reached out about our concerns, someone came out to clean the tub and a new Keurig was given to us. The man who came out brought us a bottle of wine to say how much he hated that our visit was going well.

Lovely spot when you have pets. Out 3rd time there. Biggest thing is the traffic noise, apparently people driving diesel 150s need reassurance to really hit the gas so they know their trucks are working. But it becomes white noise after a while and it is a great space! so open and a nice courtyard. great for paws and nice for their owners. coffee maker crapped out immediately but that was quickly and efficiently taken care of so. Love the spot and the management just wish it was a bit quieter. then again if you are getting up to leave by 11 that is kinda helpful

Our stay was great! From previous feedback from others, we were prepared for the busy street so it didn’t bother us at all! The location was great!! It would be nice to have at least 1 smart TV in the house. We would definitely stay here again!

Property is close to main. Pretty property. Sunroom has a leak. Trouble checking in but it was corrected in about 30min

Property is in great condition, and a perfect location. Walked to lunch and dinner and shopping within 5 minutes. Will definitely stay again!

A couple of us seasoned citizens stayed here on during a motorcycle ride. We wanted clean, quiet, and a carport. More on that later. The location is great, just 5 minutes walk from lots of restaurants on Main Street. You'll hear traffic noise from the intersection, but that stops at night. The kitchen is well-equipped, though we did not have a chance to use it. One thing to note, the primary bath is accessible only from the hallway between the two bedrooms. The second bath is on the other side of the house. If you require a private bath, this may be a consideration. Spring in Texas can bring hail, and there was a big storm just south of town our first night. The carport took all the worry out of the unforecasted weather. For a small group, the Sam Houston Retreat is a much better value than staying in hotel rooms. Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed staying there, but we want to give you a sincere feedback. The house was not as clean as expected: - Floors: dirty - Fridge: dirty - Dishwasher: still had items

We really enjoy staying here. This is the second time we have stayed here and we love it. The house is very spacious and has everything we need. The location is only a few blocks off Main Street so it is only a 5 minute walk. We have already reserved it for November.

On a busy street and it was hard to get in and out of driveway. High traffic area and loud nosey cars when you try to sleep. No window covers on the kitchen windows and it faced the busy street. I would not stay at the property again.

Property was well maintained providing for a comfortable stay indoors and outdoors. Easy walk to Main Street. Great location. The only downside was road noise, but would definitely recommend property and stay again.

Love this house but the drain in bath next to master bedroom needs help. It fills up with water when taking a shower!!

Perfect location. Short walk to the heart of Main Street. Wonderful to be able to have our dogs with us.

We had a girls trip to Fredericksburg and had a fantastic time. The Sam Houston house we rented was amazing and would stay there again! The weather was nice one of the days so we were able to sit out on the back porch and enjoy the birds. It was easy walking distance to Main Street. The only not so great thing was the street noice. We are not used to that.

We just wrapped our stay here for a girls trip weekend. The location was great, Close to most area attractions ( 10 or 12 minute walk or 3 to 4 minute drive ). The rooms look exactly as they do online, the beds were very comfortable and overall the home was very well appointed. Recommend!
