Salvo Sandbox: Ocean-Side, Dog-Friendly Cottage

No hustle & bustle, just the sounds of the ocean at night

The Salvo Sandbox was just perfect for our family!! We enjoyed the location…the house was spacious enough for the 7 of us, lots of outside spaces to enjoy! Our golden retrievers loved their first vacation too! Easy walk across the street to the beach, a little bit of a hike over the dunes to get to the ocean, but completely manageable! If I could make one suggestion if possible, ceiling fans for the front porch. It was so hot (of course we were in an extreme heat warning during our vacation) but there was no air circulating and we didn’t get to enjoy the porch at all….we had hoped to eat breakfast out there but it was just tooooo hot! We loved visiting village conery for ice cream, hatteras bowls for a refreshing treat, waves market and deli for lunch and mirros cafe for breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the salvo day park for our dogs to play in the water and for the amazing sunsets.

The property manager as amazing! They were incredibly accommodating! They went above and beyond to make our stay amazing! The house is clean, comfortable, has everything you need, and is in an excellent location. I highly recommend this rental and would gladly return!

Such a cute beach house! The owner Pam hasn't missed a thing in making your stay comfortable. She communicated with us regularly and is such a lovely person! The house is cute and comfortable and decorated with a fun, relaxed vibe. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The outdoor decks are well crafted and look brand new. They provided us with some nice outdoor areas to hang out. The house is a block away from the beach and a quick walk. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog. Pam has provided everything you'd need for your dog including dog bowls, extra leashes and even dog tags with the house address in the event your dog gets loose. We appreciated such thoughtful attention to detail. She is clearly a dog lover. We really enjoyed our stay at the Salvo Sandbox and will definitely be coming back to this adorable beach cottage.

Everything from communication to location was perfect. Could not have asked for a better host. Pam went out of her way to make our stay memorable with special touches like pastry delivery from a local bakery to recommendations for activities. The house is beautiful and super pet friendly with just a short walk to the beach. In a word, OUTSTANDING

This is a great spot in Salvo. Pam kept us well informed ahead of our trip and was easy to communicate with when needed. The house is well equipped with most everything you need for a beach trip. The listing is clear with what is NOT provided. It’s an older home, but you tell it’s had some good TLC; example, most all the decking has been replaced or new. There are two beach access points near the house. We would definitely stay here again.

Perfect spot and loved having the fenced in yard for our dog. Everything was well stocked and we enjoyed lounging on the multiple decks. Such a nice surprise to receive fresh baked treats from the host our first morning and we greatly appreciated all the dining and local recommendations.
