Salty Mermaid Lodge: Newly built 2023, Panoramic views, 4X4 area

We had a wonderful time at the salty Mermai Lodge! Kristen and Dave are fantastic hosts. They made sure we had everything we needed for an amazing week on the beach.We had so many highlights like taking long walks on the beaches, seeing so many wild horses, and enjoying family meals on the second and third floor decks with panoramic ocean views. Our 17 and 20 year-old sons even met a local guy who lent them his fishing rigs and they caught a red drum one late night after tide head gone down. It was a week we will never forget!!Remember to bring all extra cooking, bathroom, soap etc supplies with you or it’s a 45 minute drive to Corolla after airing up and down. We flew from the Midwest and needed to buy a lot of supplies but it was fine!

Beautiful home. A beautiful location and excellent first trip to Carova! The only negative I have is that we didn’t stay longer.! We will definitely be back and hope to be able to rent this beauty in the future

The easiest way to sum it up… everything was 10/10

This was such an awesome experience. We loved the horses and being away from a busy town. We did have some difficulty getting there due to rain but definitely not anyone’s fault. In mother natures control. Found a couple small things under the beds from past guests but other than that the house was cleanly! The owner was very nice. We would stay again for sure!

We had a great stay at the Salty Mermaid! The house was very clean and nicely located to the beach. Our host was very responsive and communicated quickly and accurately, answering any questions or concerns we had. We were able to see some horses regularly near the property which provided an up close experience.

What an amazing home! We’ve been to Carova several times before, but this was hands down the cleanest house with the nicest furnishings. It really felt like home. The location is perfect, nestled up at the northern part of the beach with partial ocean views. We will definitely be staying again!

We’ve been vacationing Corolla for 27 years. This is the first time we didn’t rent a huge house on the beach. It was probably the nicest, up to date, decorated house we’ve ever stayed in. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. And probably will! ~joe and shannon

My wife and kids won't stop talking about our visit to the Salty Mermaid. I loved the location and the house was perfect. It felt like home from the moment we walked in the door, except even better. The host was amazing. I can't say enough about Kristen! I have not ever had a bad vacation rental experience but this was the absolute best experience we have ever had. We can't wait to go back!
