Saltbox - Pacific Grove House - Two Blocks to Beach and Downtown!

Saltbox was welcoming, very clean, and tho we needed to call the maintenance number to make the heat work,he was very responsive As older women the stairs to the upper bedrooms were intimidating, and there was a great handrail. Beds very comfy. We recommend a little coffee table in the living room

We loved this house. We used to live in PG, and we wanted location, and this was perfect for us. The downstairs was spread out so we had a bedroom, office space and a nice sized bathroom area. All this was near the kitchen and living room. My daughter stayed upstairs. The kitchen had everything we needed, and lots of space for everything. Don’t expect a view, but the location was ideal. Visitors need to realize that parking is a bit of a challenge here, but we would definitely stay here again,

Saltbox's location is the best part about it. You can walk to Lover's Point, many restaurants and easy access to the coastal trail which we loved. It has some pretty steep stairs that were not ideal for our one year old walker and some very thin walls which was also not ideal for privacy amongst our other guests. Another issue we had was that the toilets didn't flush every time. They would flush if we manually filled the bowl or about every third try to flush.

Beautiful house, very clean and well stocked kitchen with lots of nice equipment and utensils. Two coffee makers (one Keurig, lots of pods!), even a Brita pitcher in fridge! Beds were comfortable and warm. Unfortunately, the upstairs shower/tub sprung a leak that flooded the downstairs dining area - evidence that this had been an ongoing problem - we had to put pots to catch the water and tons of towels to clean it up. Hardwood floor ruined! Property manager responded immediately and offered to send someone but we declined because we thought it wasn’t going to be an easy fix that could be completed during our short stay. They were able to give us some adjustment to our room rate which I thought was fair and appreciated not having to haggle over it with them. Otherwise, really great house and location was awesome. Couple blocks from ocean and couple blocks from cute Pacific Groce downtown with restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay here again next time.

Our group included our son’s family with 15-month old baby so the “upstairs/downstairs” arrangement was perfect: grandparents on the first floor bedroom with office, and son and family upstairs spread over the 2BRs there plus full bath including tub for child. Kitchen was spotless, including inside the cabs, with complete and thoughtful provision of kitchenware. An easy 2 blocks to the 17 mile walk (and an easy walk there to the Aquarium), and 2 blocks in the opposite direction to a great restaurant and coffee shop and 2 blocks across to a childrens playground. To our surprise, the small footprint of the home was very comfortable, affording both family togetherness and privacy when desired. Our host Michael was easy to communicate with. Entire experience was worry-free. A perfect getaway for our family.

Quirky and charming house in just the right place for walking everywhere. Plenty of street parking. Our family of four had a lovely thanksgiving here. We will be back!

This property was true to all of the website photos and descriptions. It was extremely comfortable for five adults. The house was clean and well-supplied. We dealt with Michael and he provided prompt answers to any questions as well as very detailed info about what would be in the house for our use. Bedding and linens were top-notch. We'd be happy to return!

Good location! Right in between town and the beach. Clean, and comfortable. I would rent this house again!

The property was charming and plenty of room for adult and two teens. Great location just off the beach and blocks from downtown. Neighborhood was quiet. Highly recommend.

Great kitchen set up for family meals

This home was in a perfect location for us! We got to take nightly walks along the water, to restaurants, and to the aquarium and monarch sanctuary. Cozy home. Kitchen well stocked.

We had a fantastic stay at the Saltbox. It was the perfect size for our family and was stocked with everything we needed. Parking was a challenge, particularly on the night of our late arrival, but we made it work and got to brush up on our parallel parking skills. We loved the location and the quick access to PG, Pebble and Monterey. We can't wait to return next year.

Fantastic remodeled old home. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and it was in close proximity to the water. Only downside, which wasn’t a big deal, is that parking is limited to the street.

Saltbox was the perfect accommodation for us to explore Monterey Bay area, enjoy the coast and celebrate long-time friendships. Well appointed, comfortable and efficient for 4 and the location is perfect! We will visit again!

Great location and the home away from home for four days for five women friends meeting from three different states. The main floor bedroom and bath was perfect for accessibility needs.

This house was clean, an adequate size and, most appreciated, was close to the water's edge so our hiking could start easily.

Saltbox was a wonderful place to stay, had we been there longer we could have taken advantage of the well stocked kitchen for longer stays. The beds were very comfortable. I appreciated the bedroom/bath with walk in shower on the first floor for my mother who can't do stairs. It was the perfect distance to walk down to the water each morning to watch the sunrise and close for walking to the restaurants/shops. The communication was easy and we had no issues with our stay.

Salt box was a perfect choice for the 4 of us. The location couldn’t have been better, we never drove anywhere. Shops, restaurants, the beach, movie theatre and museum were all an easy short walk. The kitchen was well stalked as well. Anything we needed for cooking was there. Very enjoyable stay.

Easy walk to downtown PG and to Lovers Cove. Lovely upgraded home and well stocked with everything we needed. Would definitely rent again.
