We have rented a home each summer for the past few years and always had very positive experiences. This year (2024) I regret to say that we were disappointed. Pro: Great location Great back deck view with fabulous sunsets House very clean Negatives: Dining area furniture very old and practically falling apart Large living room TV did not work for entire week – reported to property manager on first day but unable to resolve. Only two kayaks instead of three and all of the paddles were broken into singles Upon arrival no life jackets for kayaks, boogie boards, beach umbrellas and only two beach chairs. Was told to in store room however it was locked. No attempt made to provide access. On Wed a circuit breaker tripped and maintenance was sent and opened the store room to reset the breaker – missing beach equipment in the store room. Two days were hot and A/C was unable to cool. The HVAC tech came both days did the best he could but still warm. Kitchen – one burner did not work and most of the glasses and cups were plastic Ceiling fan in living room did not work No hair dryer No beach passes to private beach Ants in upstairs. Keep belongings off the floor,we brought them home One of the property managers was unresponsive – did not return text messages after first day and his voicemail inbox was full so unable to leave any messages. Luckily there was another contact who did respond.

Property was beautiful with wonderful views to be enjoyed and easy access to everywhere you want to be in Bethany and surrounding areas. Attention needed in some showers ie. mold, sheets, pillows and towels sub-par, carpet throughout home very dirty. Some mattresses need replacing/toppers.

The property is very well situated for both beach and for the estuary. crossing the highway to get to the beach is a chore but seeing the sunsets over the estuary is a big plus compared to beachside properties. With five bedrooms (only two en suite) it accommodates two families easily. The very large sitting room/kitchen overlooking the estuary is a great gathering spot without being crowded. Henry the owner was available on short notice to rectify and amplify!

Had a nice stay. The only drawback is having to cross the highway to get to the beach. Hard to traverse with little kids. Ended up driving over and dropping off a lot. Overall the property was beautiful although the furniture is rather worn. Sank into most seats.

Upon arrival, we immediately found about 20 towels in the laundry, broken chairs, and a porch that needed cleaning. The property manager immediately sent assistance for these items and we were back up and running. Unfortunately, on our last day of vacation, we found a broken condom next to the bed my 10 year old had been sleeping in all week. We would find used condoms under two additional beds as we were packing to leave. These were not ours and had gone unnoticed all week. We alerted the property management who seemed as concerned as we were. Despite evidence to the contrary upon check-in, we were told that the cleaning service is expensive, excellent, and stated that these condoms were not there at the start of the week. The property manager provided this additional information: We don’t know how those condoms got there. Kids could have gotten into them and played like they were slingshots? We have no idea? It seems very odd that this was the case in three different bedrooms? When you noticed the broken chair and barstool and dirty patio, you notified us immediately. Why did you wait so many days to let us know about this situation? Our family will never return to this location again.

Our recent family vacation was wonderful on all accounts- location of the house provided family members with great options. Those who fished were happy with the bay out back. Those who kayaked or used our own paddle board were excited to easily launch. The access to the beach was simple. Bikes were in great shape and provided exercise and sightseeing for all ages including our 11-yr old grandson. The nearby nature area had many paths. The interior of the house was clean and complete with all amenities. Lynne responded quickly to any question. Overall, the time spent in Bethany Beach will be remembered as a most enjoyable time for our 9-member multi- generational family. From ages 6-67, we all had a great time.

The house was exactly as advertised. It was clean, beautiful, and in a great location. Henry, the owner, visited us multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed.

We loved this bay front home! Gorgeous views of the bay and beautiful sunsets every night and a nice deck to watch them from. The listing is very accurate and the kitchen is well equipped. We loved the dock for crabby and putting in the kayaks and there were 5 bikes to choose from. The main living area is very spacious. Short walk to the beach and attentive lifeguards. Short walk/ride to the bike/walking path right off route 1.

Loved our August ‘21 stay. Very responsive and helpful manager. All the reviews were accurate - great views over harbor, beach a short walk, very big/open living & dining room perfect for a family group of 10 of all ages. Spacious and quiet bedrooms. Crossing road to beach is only downside, but if you are patient/careful it’s really fine and no need to drive. 10 min walk max. We used the kayaks and row boat almost every day and great bike/running path near house were unexpected plus. Matt’s Fish Camp was yummy for takeout if a bit pricey. Enjoy!

This is a wonderful home and worth every penny. In terms of accommodations, it has it all. Be cognizant of the following: - We had a little difficulty reaching the property manager (who is different from the owner) regarding a large build up of trash. On trash day, no one came to grab the bins from the prior week's guests. Eventually, the property manager was able to secure new trash bins for the back half of our stay, which resolved the issue. - The tennis court next to the house is not part of the property or rental. The home does not advertise it as such, but for the avoidance of doubt, do not assume it comes with the home. It is padlocked and only for the guests in the subdivision on the other side of the courts. - To get to the beach, you must cross the highway. It is in fact a highway, so be very careful. Also make sure to ask the property owner for the key code to get a car into the subdivision that has access to the private beach. Otherwise, you will be lugging umbrellas and chairs across the highway, which can be tricky (to say the least). Get ready for an awesome stay. You'll love it at this house, as it is centrally located to everything. Highly recommend!
