Stayed Apr 15, 2024I've put off this review for a long time. I was hoping that the host would do the right thing. They haven't. Half-way into my 8 day stay, it became evident there was a bug problem in the house - specifically some kind of beetles or weird roach things. Anyway, I notified the host. They first implied it was my fault for leaving doors open. I had dogs with me, so no... that wasn't happening. It was more likely due to very long grass out back (too long for my dogs to go out there safely) and a lack of regular maintenance like pest control done on the property. The host said they would have an exterminator come out. But not until the next afternoon. So I had to leave. And I couldn't leave my stuff there, to be overrun by bugs and/or covered in pesticide. Plus, I have asthma. I wasn't going to be able to go back earlier than 12 hours after the pest control *at best*. Also, TBH, the ad hoc nature of the place and the repairs it was obvious they'd done, while fine for the price I was paying... Let's just say I wasn't very confident in how they would approach the problem... if it wouldn't just be a guy with a can of raid, etc. instead of an actual service with products that would be ok for me to be around so early on. Having to move out, and stay out, for at least two nights, and given the bug problem. I opted not to come back. I asked for a refund for my remaining days. They refused a refund of ANY KIND. I have NO idea why they think that is OK. Horrible.
