*While the lodge has had many major renovations, there are still a few unfinished projects. We do plan to have them all completed by the end of 2024. So please take this into consideration before booking your stay.
Great place for me and my hunting clients stay!
The location to prime San Juan waters for fishing is unbeatable. It is a man camp type home with everything you need for a great trip.
Vary nice
Great time. Great location could use a work but not enough to not want to stay again.
My family had a good time they had fun playing pool there's plenty of space for my family to move around i. wish it was wheelchair freindly but my neice managed she had a great time it could need more kitchen supply but overall it was greet thanks again
The location and set up was perfect for our group. Dane our host was very responsive and even set us up with fishing guides. I highly recommend the lodge for groups and families.
It was great a great distance to the river and the lake
Cabin was great with ample sleeping arrangements.
Perfect rental for what we needed. Booked this place instead of tent camping it for a deer hunt we had planned because of the cold weather. Plenty of space, comfortable beds and heaters in every room. Host was very responsive and we would definitely rent this place again.
Had everything we needed. Plenty of room for our family. Dane was very friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay again.
Perfect for what we had planned.
Large space and close to the water. Plenty of rooms and quiet area.
This house was big enough to fit a lot of my family members comfortably. Located near the stream for fishing and near the marina/damn for snagging. Will definitely stay here again.
The property has lots of space to fit many people comfortably. The location is great for those who want to enjoy Navajo Marina. Clearly the property is undergoing some renovations, but even so we really enjoyed our stay.
This property is clearly a work in progress. The owner has made cosmetic improvements and on the surface, it looks good. The property was clean. (Just don't look under sinks and in closets) Unfortunately, it also has many safety issues that need to be addressed. There's open wiring and exposed outlets throughout the house. There are extension cords with power strips plugged into them. It has a fuel-fired heat source and appliances and yet there is not a smoke alarm or carbon monoxide alarm anywhere on the property. I also did not locate a fire extinguisher. When I asked the owner about smoke alarms, he said they had been on order for 3 months. Why he hasn't gone into Home Depot and bought them off the shelf is perplexing. There's also a door in the kitchen with screws that poke out of it about 2 inches at the bottom. I sat something on the floor in front of it so no one would cut their foot or jam one of those screws into it. It would be a fine place for a group of guys coming to hunt or fish, who don't mind the rough around the edges but, it's definitely not a safe place for anyone with children under the age of 10. Frankly, in its current condition, it's not really safe for anyone.
Overall good place to stay. Be careful though and expect to see anyone that not fully finished with its renovation. There are bare electrical cords exposed everywhere, no washer and dryer hookup, and overall just not finished. My kids both scratched themselves in a carpet nail on the stairs too. Maybe this is a good home for adults who can be wary of the hazards until the Reno is finished. Host was very communicative and apologized for the incorrect posting about the washer and dryer hookups. He was nice and responded quickly.
Property was easy to get to, close to the lake, and spacious.
The property was amazing and had all the great amenities one could expect when staying on the San Juan! Dane was great and provided superb hospitality. Very polite and great communication! Would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great fishing experience!!
This home had a lot of sleeping space, and very comfortable beds. We had 11 in our family and Still had 3 Queens, 1 Double Futon and 1 set of bunkbeds that we did not use. Conveniently located 15 mins from Lake Navajo Marina. I would highly recommend for large families. :)
We had a family of 10 stay at this very roomy 6 bedroom cabin. Access to the San Juan River was right across the road. There were many wonderful fishing spots along the 6 mile road to the Marina. Comfortable beds in every room, well stocked kitchen and roomy gathering areas made this rustic cabin a pleasurable stay. The hosts were very helpful whenever we had questions. The air conditioning worked great. There were electric fireplaces in every room, but we didn't have to use them. It was obvious that the owners are still doing some finish work on their renovations, but it did not impede our long holiday weekend at all. Thank you, Dane, for a wonderful stay. I would definitely book this location again.
Plenty of space for our group. Dane was a great host. Very accommodating. Would stay again.
Close to the river and very roomy. Comfy beds. Perfect for our needs.
I organized A birthday trip for my good friend from Boston to flyfish the San Juan river other friends heard and wanted to join . The Laplatte lodge will sleep 15 we ended up with seven , we were able to cook and have great means and scocialize around the table the fishing was epic
Property was well situated for our purpose. Close to river. Stairs were a trial as three of the group were 76 and older. That and no toaster were our only complaints. I would highly recommend this to people looking for a place to stay.
Perfect place to have a few friends ready to fish the San Jaun. Far easier and better than hotels.
