Over all a very beautiful place. The cleanliness wasn’t very clean. Beds very hard. And needed maybe more variety of pans. But over all I fell in love with the place and will be back if there’s availability….. Just pray it doesn’t rain the whole time. Lol
This cabin worked great for us. It is in a beautiful, secluded location. The lake was right there and what sounded like a creek in the back. It seems like an old family cabin, we were very comfortable and would stay there again.
Spacious, big windows, sunlight, confortable, well equipped, great deck, firepit, great location
The house was clean on the surface but has a musty smell and dirty carpets. The two frying pans are terroible and should be replaced with working non-stick ones. The coffee maker's carafe had to be propped up to drain coffee liquid into it; it should be replaced with a coffee maker that works properly. The DVD and VCR players aren't wired to the TV and the TV's controller had missing batteries. The lower patio and furniture were dirty and there was no broom for us to clean with. The surrounding neighborhood is nice, and the location to the private playground and swimming beach is excellent. We would recommend the property in the future.
House was spacious. Game room was fun for all ages. About a 10 minute walk to a beautiful alpine lake. Chilly to swim in, even in July but we knew that going into it. Highly recommend for a family or even 2 small families.
Loved this place. Took our dog, loved the big fire pit and the lake park was great! Highly recommend!!
Location of the home was fantastic! Essentially on the lake! And close enough to town. Home was ok. Cookware was old, burnt and sticky. Home was not cleaned as well. We saw dog hair all over the floor. Games such as ping pong, darts and air hockey was in subpar condition. If you’re looking at a home only and thinking of splitting this was many people, it would be a great value.
Buyer beware. Charged 654.00 for 2 nights at the Alpine Home in Hoodsport. The rental portion was of the charge was 212.00 and 54.00 in taxes. The rest was a service charge of 227.00 and other charges I was in aware of. I feel like they are not up front with disclosing all of the changes before you buy and next time we will go with other services that are more reasonable and upfront with all charges.
The only real issue we had during the trip was the fact that the front door lock did not work as advertised (I think it was a combination of the lock's keypad not being intuitive as well as the lock itself being sticky), which meant we had to call into Vacasa in order to get into the property. Once we finally got in and settled we had a great time, and really enjoyed the house..
The house itself was lovely. Comfortable and a good location. The only issues that drop the rating to 4 stars were that the fridge doesn't work great and the keypad lock wasn't working right. Vacasa, on the other hand, is an AWFUL company. At one point on our trip we got locked out of the house (because the keypad wasn't working) in near freezing temps with insufficient clothes and without keys to even get into our car. After calling Vacasa multiple times and being told they would get someone out to help us, we finally got tired of waiting and found a way to break back into the house. Almost an hour later we FINALLY heard from the local manager who had only just then been notfied. It's WILDLY unacceptable to leave guests in a dangerous situation without responding or following up to see if they're safe. We will NEVER do business with Vacasa again after this experience.
We loved everything about our stay. The location was peaceful and quiet, perfect for the opportunity to relax and recharge. The cabin was clean, well stocked, comfortable and tastefully decorated. The game room is set up for hours of fun, it truly would be great for a family or group.
Great home with outstanding beds and linens.
Great find, fabulous house! Comfy beds, great setup, great location. So serene and quiet! Be sure to look up at the stars at night! LOVE the VHS and Nintendo, too!
Great location near private lake front park. Accomodated our family of 7 very nicely with dogs as well. Biggest negative was noisy “crunching” sound of bed on main floor
Brilliant. Does get hot inside when the temperature is high. Amazing lake nearby. Great for hikes, swimming and watersports.
Overall an enjoyable home to stay in and the location is relaxing with a lot to offer,. The nearby private beach (5-10 m walk) on Lake Cushman is beautiful and a wonderful resource for adults and children (and dogs). There is nice hiking from the nearby Big Creek Campground and beautiful trails at the Olympic National Park's Staircase entrance about 20 minutes away. In the house itself, the downstairs rec room is spacious; the two patios and surrounding woods are lovely. Two negatives: (1) the mattress in the main floor bedroom is very noisy (squeaky); and there is no place to store clothes in the downstairs bedroom (closet and trunk are full of owner's possessions and there is no drawer space).
What an amazing property. So many options for indoor entertainment for all ages as well as outdoor hiking, swimming, paddleboarding, fishing, etc., etc. options. A bonus: Dog friendly!!
It was a great stay, thanks for hosting my family.! 3 highlights 1. you can visit the beautiful lake cushman park. (very close) 2. if you have kids, they will love the downstairs. 3. clean, well stocked, firepit, and more.
This house is within walking distance of the park and gorgeous views on Lake Cushman. We had a great stay with family friendly games and we loved the ping pong table. The nearby Staircase Rapids trail was well worth the 20 minute drive.
This location is not straightforward to find - GPS sends you nearby, but not to the correct location. The front door is very finicky to enter - the latch hardware needs to be replaced. The rangetop mostly worked, but microhood lights overhead are not operational. Other than that, it was a great place to be with comfortable furniture, beds, washer/dryer, Wi-Fi internet, nearby groceries and restaurants. It was great to have the air-hockey table too. Excellent proximity to lake and hiking trails!
